Nouri Maliki

Washington Post:

Iraqi leaders expressed incredulity and disappointment Friday over a report that U.S. officials had spied on Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and other top Iraqi leaders.

"If it is true, it reflects that there is no trust and it reflects also that the institutions in the United States are used to spying on their friends and their enemies in the same way," Ali al-Dabbagh, a spokesman for the Iraqi government, said in a statement. "We will ask for an explanation."

Gazprom Moves To Take Over From Total In Iran

Just days after French oil giant Total withdrew from its planned multibillion-dollar gas investment project in Iran, Gazprom decided to enter the market with its own multibilliondollar deal to develop Iranian oil and gas fields. Iran offered Gazprom an extended package for the development of oil and gas fields; construction of refineries; transfer of oil from the Caspian Sea to the Sea of Oman; development of Iran's North Azadegan oil field; exchange of technology and experience; and the possible participation of Gazprom in the planned pipeline between Iran, India and Pakistan.

What did they expect? Next, they're going to be telling us that they are the democratically elected government, and that they want us to get our mercenaries and our troops out of their country. Who do they think they are, an independent nation?

This is a non-story everyone is spying in Iraq even counties like South Africa and India have spy programs in Iraq.

In addition pretty much everyone spies on the US. Some of our best friends (Israel, France & Mexico) have active and ongoing programs in which we have caught them.

This is the least of the Iraqi problem for the US or Maliki.

This from the "Leaders" of Iraq that want to disenfranchise all those that are not Shiite Muslims. Besides what's a little spying between friends? Remember the US is acting as Al-Maliki's "Muscle, " so I don't think that he has much to complain about.

This will be 3rd time to try to say this and it meets your requirements! The bush/chenny gov. has destroyed your country with bombs and depleted uranium shells, killed thousands of your citizens and nearly 5000 of our finest troopers so it couldn't be a suprise that that spy on you ,hell they spy on us.

"Other top Iraqi officials were more cautious in response to the disclosure. "I think it's too early to comment," said Sadiq al-Rikabi, a political adviser to Maliki. "It should not happen. If it's true, I express my regret." "

So is it just me or does it sound like this guy is one of our spies?
