I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Inhofe

Some harsh talk from Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK):

Regardless of what polls show, Inhofe said, voters will have to ask themselves a question once they get behind the curtain in the voting booth on Election Day.

"Do you really want to have a guy as commander in chief of this country when you can question whether or not he really loves his country?" he asked.

"That's the big question.''

The story quotes an Obama aide criticizing Inhofe's remarks, then a runs a "clarification" from Inhofe that seems just as harsh:

"Let me be clear,'' he said.

"I am not questioning Sen. Obama's patriotism, but you have to question why at times he seems so obviously opposed to public displays of patriotism and national pride, like wearing an American flag lapel pin.''

The message coming out of Minneapolis sure does seem to have crystallized: McCain's a patriot, Obama...not so much.

Question the patriotism of Sarah Palin vs her jehad (crusade in christian) religious "faith". She is one of the "good old boys" like when "good old boys" had a different, but just as nasty meaning in the deep south. The montra for Sarah Palin's crowd is "There is nothing in this world for me" , "There is nothing in this world for me", "There is nothing in this world for me". This is taught to young people in a controlled setting. Sound like something we hear asigned to the bomers in Iraq? Ever hear of "muslim" religious schools and the teachings in the news? So, this stuff is NEWS!
Remember that one way to win a war is to divide the electorate against itself. Then who is it that wins??

Don't you , the rules are different for a POW. Why bother with the election? He is the next one to wear Bush's crown, see now theres change, you change the crown from one head to another. Then all of America bend over and get ready to take it.

Sir, your ignorance is showng...Again.
Does Mr. McCain or Mrs. Palin where a flag pin every time they venture out of doors? If not, are they to be subjected to the same scrutiny as Mr. Obama? Or are they exempt - she because she's a woman and he because he served his country as a bomber piliot almost 40 years ago?
I'm sorry, but the accessorizes one chooses to wear really tells me nothing about a person's partriotism, national pride or love of country.
But to continue to beat a horse long dead in an attempt to smear a fellow citizen does tell me quite a bit about your patriotism, national pride and love of country. You have none. Your love belongs to the grand ole party, one of the most exlusionary organizations in the US, as you walk lockstep with the ignorance they have shown over the last few weeks with your verbal poison which has yet to be used to offer healing to a nation in trouble or solutions for a nation with problems. I can but hope that some sincere, talented young person wishing to serve your great state takes you on and shows you what a patriot can really do when efforts to heal and build are employed.

One of the attacks utilized by the vapid GOP on Obama is the premise that he is somehow un-American. They phrase it as, “He’s not one of us.” One does not need to be a scholar to know what is meant by this attack. It is an attack grounded in hatred, elitism, and deep-seated fears of a dying mindset concerning a world that is fast changing around it. Thus, we get a frenzied approach to maintaining power, which culminated in an indecent proposal to America. Sarah Palin is that indecent proposal, not the person but the idea that her candidacy represents.

Sarah Palin is a “me too” representation of change versus a thoughtful and deliberate approach to bring meaningful change to America. In choosing Mrs. Palin, John McCain is saying to America, “Ok, I get it, you want change. Well here is some change for you.”

The only problem with the change McCain offers in the form of Sarah Palin is that it is a reflexive gimmick versus a reflection of a true regard for the concerns of women, or a true regard for the concerns of country

McCain did not choose Palin because he respects women. He chose her because he lusts for power and Palin is a willing pawn to play in his pursuit. She also represents a cynical mechanism to create a manufactured divide in the electorate by appealing to the most base and lowly aspects of certain portions of the electorate.

Hey, the folks Palin/McCain want to appeal to -- they won't understand what you wrote. They have short attention spans (one-liners are cool, maximum three), and they are intimidated by the academic style of writing. Go easy on the longer words, and avoid excessive imagery.

Right you are, kadene. I have commented in this way several times over the past three months. We must better teachers and leaders by bringing ourselves down to our students level, so to speak. Anything else is foolish and arrogant.

There is a big assumption in your comment. It is that I write my thoughts/feelings for the purpose or intent of impression, or to change hardened and/or hate-filled, petty minds. That would be a faulty conclusion and if it were true, it would be an unworthy pursuit.

Here is a one-liner for you though.

"I write therefore I am, without concern for who likes it or who does not. I really do not give a damn."

By your logic, the people you cite do not even visit this site, so one-liner or tome is ok, acceptable, not a problem, or all right.

Respect for you and all others who are my sisters and my brothers, but it will be as it will be, and that remains the undeniable truth and the inescapable reality, from moment to passing moment.

Now carry on.

Westmoreland Defends Calling Obama 'Uppity'
@ 3:23 pm by Andy Barr of The Hill Friday, Aug 5, 2008

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland is standing by his statement that Barack Obama is "uppity," claiming that he has never heard of the term being used in a "racially derogatory sense."

"It is important to note that the dictionary definition of 'uppity' is 'affecting an air of inflated self-esteem — snobbish,'"! Westmoreland said in a statement. "That's what we meant by uppity when we used it in the mill village where I grew up."

"I've never heard that term used in a racially derogatory sense," the Georgia Republican added.

Westmoreland has been catching heat for his use of the term Thursday during a discussion with reporters about GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech.

"Just from what little I've seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Let's jam his email and switchboard Monday morning and give him a piece of our minds on this, folks!

I find it very obvious that everytime a republican can't find anything real or constructive to speak about they always resort to fear mongering. One would think that each and everyone of them would check their closets and then tell us who is showing their love for their country or love for someone else.
Need I sy more.

Does not matter.
Enough Americans do not pay attention that they can win.

Watch Palin / McCain and the polls.

Inquiring minds want to know-was the quoted politician wearing a flap pin when he made this silly statement? Republicans question Democrats patriotism election after election, because it works. It's a low blow, but when you don't have the issues and policies behind them they trot out the charge. This is just the beginning of the low blows, expect an onslaught to begin soon.

Inhofe, is almost the worse. George Bush showed public displays of his love for this country. Right up until the minute he lied about the war and got 4,500 innocent soldiers killed for nothing more than his greed. How's that for patrotism.

>>>Sen. Jim Inhofe and the McCain Campaign questioned Obama's love of his country.

>>>Inhofe, HOW DARE YOU QUESTION OBAMA'S COUNTRY LOVE.

>>>Have you republicans asked yourselves the same question, when you wised a terrorist attack on USA soil, in order to win an election?

>>>When you maneuvered and manipulated to start World War III by creating the conflict between Russia and Georgia?

>>>Republicans, after 8 years of killing field and destroying this country and the world, you have no chance in hell to win the presidency or the senate, NOT NOW, NOT EVER, because this time we are out in thousands to get you.

>>>In 2000 you gave us Bush the Bully, Rambo and Dumb, you re-elected him in 2004, now you have McCain who is THE MOST DANGEROUS, CRAZY, EROTIC & DUMBEST OF ALL.

Fellow Democrats and Obama supporters, let us not get caught up in the heat of these stupid comments by people trying to create issues where there are none. The Republicans know they cannot win this election and will do anything to take us off our course and goal of assuring that Obama becomes the 44th President of the United States of America. So forget their smears and lies, which are not true. We need to go out there and campaign for our candidate. Convert those independents and undecided voters and get them on to Obama’s tickets. We don’t need to waste our time responding to this rubbish - our time should be spent on the campaign trail. A lot of bloggers and people making comments are just pretending to be Democrats or PUMA supporters or even Republicans who are just working to incite and create issues and friction. Obama has shown us how to handle these issues - with calm and dignity. Come On Dems, don’t get caught up in this BS. McCain and Palin are just another bump on the road, which we will flatten.
YES WE CAN!

Dear Jim, - Since you are suggesting to the entire country that Obama does not love his country, I must ask you, although I'm not an Oklahoma man, how you feel Governor Palin's prior membership of the Alaskan Independence Party, stacks up as a bonafide and consistent love for our entire, indivisible nation?
I greatly appreciate your efforts to guard our country and I thank you in advance for your kind response. Thank You. Sincerely.
Above is a copy of my email of 7 Spetember 2008 to James Inhofe - I'll let you all know if he ever responds. In the meantime, everyone make sure the Obama campaign asks the same question, not just of Inhofe, but of Palin & McCain and their entire ruthless machine of character assasination.
Veradictum.

I agree. Many are unaware of her involvement with the party. Heard shw went to a few meeting. Need to be sure she actually joined. But it means she was considering a split from America! That Inhofe had the nerve to question Obama's patriotism even after this disclosure about Palin is an indication that their appeal is not based on fact, but on fear.
