Daily Kos:

This is why the work on the ground in terms of registration is so important: in August alone, the Obama campaign registered 49,000 new voters in Virginia:

State election officials told the campaign Friday that 49,000 new voters signed up in August, a sharp increase from the 36,500 who signed up in July and the 28,000 who registered in June.

The goal of the Obama campaign was 150,000 total by the time the October 5th deadline rolls around, which leaves one month to get the remaining 36,500. Hats off to all VA Democrats who must have been working so hard on this.

Obama campaign and dems playing right into republican hands by questioning Palin so much, it puts her right up front in news coverage. Exactly what republicans want. She can defend against questions, unlike Obama who can't defend against having no administrative experience whatsoever.

Unlike Palin that has no education worth talking about. Obama has shown his executive experience over and over. As far as adminstrative experience, anyone that works in a office has that. Now smoke that in you pipe!!!

The principal of our local high school of about 300 has administrative experience but I sure don't think he's qualified to be VP.

If Ms. Palin is so "experienced", then why has she spent the last several days - hiding from the media and the press?

Experience doesn't need to cower in the corner, fearful of answering questions like McCain and Palin are doing, hiding from public scrutiny and refusing to answer any questions by the media.

That's not experience.

That's a trojan horse, trying to look "familiar", except it's NOT.
It's fake.
It's all "image and perception" as Mr. McCain's campaign manager stated, and NOT ISSUES.

Maybe that's why Palin and McCain hide from questions.
They don't have a handle on the issues, they're out of touch with mainstream America, and they don't have a clue what Americans are going through and how much they are struggling.

Bush had administrative experience. Look where that's got us.

Sarah Palin should be questioned but not by Senator O but by US.
We do not have a BUNKER TO HIDE IN WHEN THESE TWO WARMONGERS
DECIDE TO PLAY TOUGH GUY WITH RUSSIA OR IRAN OR you choose.

My life is just as important as there's is and I intend to work on Sarah until
she breaks. Straight talk and Cindy are going to be protected.

About the polls: Who is being surveyed by Gallup, CBS, AP..etc? Isn't it just people who were voter registered in the last election? Which would mean it doesn't reflect the new voters that have been registered in the last year or so?

The reason I ask is that Howard Dean has been on a bus tour for the last month registering voters, look at the numbers on Huffpo for Virginia..Georgia has had a democractic registration for 337,000. I just read an article about those 'no good' community organizers in PA - one who has taken a 3 mnth leave of pay to work- who are registering voters door- to- door...and the list goes on.

Can someone tell me if this is true? If so....wow...is McCain in trouble!

Don't listen to the polls. Just go out there and do what you can for the ticket you believe in.

One of the field organizers here in GA advised today that we registered more than 49,000 in August. This state is, and can turn. PLEASE if you are in Georgia, get online find out where to volunteer. Turning this state is a definite possibility, but it requires the help of every person who can.

It's a virtual tie in Virginia. Come on, newly registered voters everywhere, get out and vote and prove the pundits wrong. Every vote is critical.

Since Palin does not believe in community organizers we won't have to worry about people getting out the vote for her.

I read that in her entire life - in Wasilla and Alaska - she has received a total of fewer than 110,000 votes.

Here's the deal with Gallup. I heard it from a Gallup pollster himself. 'Whoever is ahead-whether by one point or a hundred-ends up winning in November.' Wait and see what happens once the Siamese twins are separated. Let's see what adding the 'big guns' to our side does-I hear Hillary has no intention of turning over her hard work to the likes of Sarah Palin. I also hear that Obama slammed John during a 'debate' about Social Security. McCain wants to privatize it (MORE OF THE SAME). Obama wants to fix it. He wants to fix it by taxing the right people and not adding this burden on to the workers. He wants to fix it by NOT raising the retirement age. Under John McCain's plan-you can work until you die and then you WON'T HAVE TO COLLECT Social Security. Some "Savings"! By the way--EVEN people in 'retirement' are working. It's not that we don't want to work, it's just that we'd like to be able to have some kind of retirement that resembles the 'Golden Years' we've all heard about. John McCAIN/Sarah Palin=MORE OF THE SAME. ENOUGH! ENOUGH of THE SAME. TIME TO CHANGE! Obama/Biden '08 P.S. It has also been shown that, of the newly registered voters who actually VOTE, a majority of them vote DEMOCRATIC.

Great work by those community leaders who are taken so lightly by the Republicans.

TRex had a great post on community organizers. I think I saw it on Bob Geiger. He says, "This guy was a community organizer", and you scroll down, and it's a picture of MLK. He says, "This guy was a community organizer too", and you scroll down, and it's a picture of Mahatma Gandhi , and he concludes, "And this guy was a community organizer too," and you scroll down and it's a picture of Jesus Christ.

I live and work in southwestern VA, a part of the state that has traditionally voted Repub for as far back as I can remember. However...I'm seeing (almost unbelievably) a surge, if you will, of individuals I personally know of who will be voting for Senator Obama (and voting Democratic) for the very first times in their lives...and I'm talking "baby boomers" as well as those from the "greatest generation." It's the most amazing transformation I've ever witnessed in this area.

I can't count how many times recently, I've been stopped in the grocery store or at work and had conversations with people who are just truly hopeful and excited by Senator Obama's vision for our futures. He's been in this area several times and people of all walks of life will wait however long it takes to hear him speak. I don't know about the rest of the country, but we, here in VA, are more than ready for CHANGE!!!

Sarah Palin is the political equivalent of the sports fan whose favorite team is the one who just claimed the title. She is incapable of understanding the plight of a Cubs fan because she's too busy buying Red Sox merchandise. Nobody will take Sarah seriously until she reaches into her closet and pulls out that Cubs jersey...
