An AMERICAblog reader was having lunch in Albuquerque, New Mexico today, when who should drop in for a substance-less photo opp? John McCain and Sarah Palin. And you'll be surprised to know that when both of them were asked polite but substantive questions by our reader, they refused to answer. He's such a maverick, that John McCain. And she has so much substance, it's scary, that Sarah Palin. Here's our reader's first hand report from the afternoon that they made Sarah Palin confront a real question from a real human being.

I have noticed than in their comments some people keep saying that they were Hillary supporters and that they are thrilled with Sara Palin and John Mc Cain. In fact, they are going to vote for the "Dynamic Duo. Go ahead, you have the wright to vote for whoever you please, but please stop threatening and complaining. If you vote for McCain you are not a real democrat and you never cared about the issues that are in play during this election. I guess you were happy with George Bush and you want four more years of the same. If you are voting for McCain only because Hillary lost the nomination, go ahead vote for the republicans and enjoy a splendid future. If you dislike Obama so much that you have to ridicule him with stupid comments, the choice is in you hands, stay at home on November 4 or vote for McCain but please stop the inmature attitude. Hillary lost and I felt disapointed too but remember what the republicans keep saying, country first.

The entire McCain campaign has not answered one question...Lord knows what is goes on at those town halls he keeps having?

McCain has not once told us what he would do...NOT ONCE.
He's told us how great he is and.....in case y'all haven't heard he's a POW..he's told us that...but no issues. Not health care...education.....NOTHING.

I don't find it a surprize at all that neither McCain or Palin will answer straight questions from the public ! That is why McCain holds small town hall meetings where the people asking questions are plants who ask questions he already has been scipted on and they have kept Palin away from reporters so they can't ask her questions she can't answer or probably would answer incorrectly !
Palin's first interview is suppose to be with Charlie Gibson and we all know how that so called debate went with Gibson asking the questions to Obama about silly things like lapel pins while not asking any real questions to either Obama or Hillary ! Gibson also is a Republican and I honestly don't think that McCain and the party wouldn't let Palin answer any question she hasn't already been scripted on ,so don't expect to hear a real honest interview .I wrote ABC and told them how I felt about Gibson interviewing Palin and that I wanted her to answer those hard questions without being scripted .She is being tutored and I would figure that Gibson has already told McCain what questions he will ask her so they can give her the answers to make her come across as knowledgable .
I am hoping if the narrator isn't impartial Biden will slip in a question that she isn't prepared to answer and she tries to answer it letting the world know just how little she actually knows !

This is why Obama's ground game is so good. Perhaps he already knows that he isn't going to get a fair break with the so-called "main stream media", so he has his people "taking it to the streets". I am in total astonishment of the media's positive coverage of Palin/McCain ticket. Did I miss something but are they not suppose to remain unbias? I have viewed C-Span, C-Span2, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, & NBC and they have all with the exception of Keith O. are now using the Palin/McCain talking points. I thought that I would be able to watch the political campaign progression until Nov., however, I don't think that I can stomach this nonsense. For the good of the American people are we not suppose to know all of the pertinent information concerning the views and political posturing of those that we are suppose to elect to the highest government office in the U.S. Wasn't it the same Media bias that didn't pursue the right information or as a matter of fact any information that got us in a war with the wrong people, we didn't go after the people who terrorized our land. It's time for the American people to be very afraid and not in the since that the Republican party wants us to be. I don't fear Obama/Biden ... I fear Appalling/McSame. (Will we have any Freedom Right Acts left?) What's Canada's National Anthem, Flag and any other history I may need, so that I don't appear to be a tourist when I give up my American Citizenship...if this ticket win.

Right now the McCain/Palin people are playing the media for the idiots they are. They are blaming the media for the 'negative' coverage of them when its because they are not honest and the media is asking some hard questions. They are using reverse psychology on the media and the media is falling for it, hook, line, and sinker. The psychology being blame the media and they will feel bad enough that they will give McSame and Palin a free pass. Very clever it seems. The media should really be in a frenzy to show them for what they are but it seems like they are getting somewhat of a free pass, although I was impressed that they called her on some of the things she's said. What I don't understand is why the polls today were showing McCain at like 54% and Obama at 45%. People are really stupid if that is the case. And yes you should be afaid if those two hot tempered know nothing idiots win.

The truly sad thing (for America, anyway) is that the Republicans are not playing the media.

The media is very much in on the game and loving every single minute of it. As much as it's been proven that they assisted the Bush Administration in lying to the American people about the war in Iraq, America still watches.

Their ratings and advertising revenues are STILL through the roof. When America is truly tired of being lied to by the MSM, America will turn off the tv, stop visiting their websites and giving their money to the companies that advertise with them!

Until then, we'll just keep getting more of the same and McSame at that!

I agree she is not a horrible speaker, but that Marc Ambinder interview was not that impressive. She doesn't really know any domestic issues unless it's an Alaskan domestic issue. This woman is a lightweight. 5 colleges and 6 years to get a BA in journalism? You gotta be kidding me. I would love to see a news reporter go to Wasilla and see what the Mayor does, so we can see all this executive experience. But, alas, the media has decided to give her a pass. I can't believe what our once great country has become.
