Ann Marie Lipinski, who resigned in July as editor of the Chicago Tribune after 30 years at the paper, is taking a job as the University of Chicago's new vice-president for civic engagement.
In her new position, which starts Oct. 1, Ms. Lipinski will spearhead the university's community outreach programs and build relationships with politicians, government officials and community leaders, according to a memo from President Robert Zimmer on Monday. The memo was confirmed by the president's office.
