Michelle Obama Dances On Ellen: "I'm A Better Dancer" Than Barack (VIDEO)

Michelle Obama appeared on the season six premiere of "Ellen" Monday, taped last week, and like all guests she danced her way out on stage.

Showing off her moves, including a dirt-off-the-shoulder move at the end. She agreed with the host that she was a better dancer than her husband Barack, who similarly danced when he appeared on Ellen last October.

THE REAL STORY HERE (show that clip!):

I found this interview with Michelle Obama very awkward, to say the least. Here's why:

1. First, the announcer today introduced Ellen as Mrs. Ellen Degeneres.

2. During Ellen's monologue (and after she sat down), Ellen spoke about her wedding, showed a photo, and promised more photos and video for another day. A considerable amount of time spent to this topic.

3. As soon as Michelle Obama sat down, she states emphatically (paraphrasing well here):
'First of all, congratulations on the new set. The big move....'

4. Ellen made a comment, 'Thank you, I'm really settled in now.' (I thought Ellen looked at her wedding band.) Ellen seem to think that the move to which M. Obama was referring was her marriage, until:

5. Michelle Obama continued: 'It's really a beautiful studio.' [She covered with grace, but you could see Ellen's bewilderment.]

6. Obama even brought a housewarming gift...for the set! (I'm not kidding, folks.)

This was so freakin' obscene. Michelle Obama dedicated at least 3 comments (with great excitement), including the word "Congratulations!" about Ellen's set, and throughout the entire interview made NO comment about Ellen's very recent nuptials. But, then again, a new film set usually is far more momentous than a person's first wedding...one that marks a historical advancement in American history.

Ellen even dropped SEVERAL hints, which Michelle Obama glossed right over. Talk about gay elephant in the room.

When Barack Obama was on the show (pre-wedding, post-wedding announcement), Ellen brought up the subject directly. Barack Obama danced around it like a sleazy, er, I mean skillful politician. He mentioned civil unions and spun it that states should be allowed to decide this for themselves. (Since when do Democrats promote federalism!) He never had the balls to just answer directly that he disagreed with her.

Heck, even John McCain, when he was on (pre-wedding) and was asked, said directly that he did not share her view about marriage but wished her happiness.

But at least Michelle and Obama are at LEAST trying to come to compromise on this especially for the sake of those religiousfundelmentalist biblethumpers nutzo's.

But hey, I'm from Oregon. Just a white woman (not g a y ), with a family, kids, and married and I understand Obama's politics on this issue. In Oregon we are a bit different here (we were so close to passing the marriage law for g a y s here.. ) But we are not freaked out or with our pantiez all in a bunch about the topic as is McC/P are where they will pray for you to convert! YOU MUST know by now where THEY stand on that issue by now. If you don't please research.

But I also think because Ellen made a BIG thing about her new season and layout is what Michelle had on her mind when talking with Ellen. I don't think Michelle tried to purposely sidestep it with Ellen.

If she did, it further reiterates the point of politics first. She would not acknowledge it publicly. Ya don't think Michelle Obama had seen the set before then to have congratulated Ellen on it privately? Everyone comes on a talk show and to the camera appears to be seeing the host/guests for the first time. That's show business.

Gushing about a wood & paint and not even mentioning the one thing that dominated Ellen's show banter was as calculated as it could be. Ladies and gentlemen...the Obamas.
