I Like ItI Don’t Like It

"In a weekend interview, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice passed up an opportunity to defend Sarah Palin from allegations that she does not have the foreign policy experience to be vice president," ABC News reports.

In a less-than-hearty endorsement, Rice declined to say anything more positive about Palin than "she gave a terrific speech" and "she's a governor of a state here in the United States" during her interview with Zain Verjee of CNN.

Asked point-blank if Palin has enough experience, Rice said, "These are decisions that Senator McCain has made. I have great confidence in him." Confidence in Palin? Rice didn't say.

Rice added: "I'm not going to get involved in this political campaign. As Secretary of State, I don't do that. But I thought her speech was wonderful."

Via ThinkProgress, here's the video:

As TP notes, "By comparison, Rice responded to Sen. Barack Obama's pick of Sen. Joe Biden as his running mate last month by saying that 'Biden is obviously a very fine statesman.'"

Why does the media continue to quote a war criminal like Condoleeza Rice? Why aren't media outlets like Huffington Post calling for her arrest? That's all that matters.

This is the most eloquent Ms. Rice has ever sounded.

Ms.Rice has made some positive statements about Obama
this year--one about his speech on race in Philadelphia, and recently in approving his VP choice.
As a black progressive woman,I've not agreed with her on many issues.
However,I would bet a year's salary that both she and Colin Powell are voting for Obama in November, and it has little to do with "race pride."

I feel,in my guilt, that these two are honorable Americans
who want what's best for their country. And they KNOW a McCain/Palin ticket isn't it!!!
And by the way,both Rice and Powell STILL have too much integrity to be on a GOP ticket;
why would they want to go on supporting yet another corrupt white man ????
Plus, neither is a true political animal, and are obviously more comfortable taking orders,
as has Gen. Powell as a civilian.

I feel that they both have blood on their hands because of Iraq.
And that it's a shame that two people of such such stellar accomplishments
have had to carry the water for such a disastrous adminstration.

THAT is the main reason she and Powell's names always come up
when whites point to black personalities they admire.
They are non threatening to the rabid right wingnuts and closet bigots,
because they make the men they work for LOOK GOOD!

In a perfect world, these tired old conservative white men would be working for THEM!!!

Powell might be forgiven by virtue of his eventual, if much-belated, mea culpa - though I would not expect forgiveness of any soldier or civilian killed in either Iraq or Afghanistan -
Powell's biggest offense being that he used his personal credibility to sell a lie and knew he was at least very likely to be doing that - the pretense of being convinced by
something he found unconvincing, whether or not it could be proven false.

But Rice, like Bush, Cheney and the neocons who guided them in the murderous
course of the past 8 years, should long ago have been convicted of TREASON.
Rice and Palin actually bear strong similarities, though no doubt the idea would
horrify Rice, who surely considers herself 'superior'. Which she may be in terms of
intellectual capability and good manners. But she and Palin share exactly the same
coldness of heart and the same ruthless personal ambition.

Rice added: "I'm not going to get involved in this political campaign. As Secretary of State, I don't do that. But I thought her speech was wonderful."

Great. She calls an angry, disrespectful, factually inaccurate speech "wonderful" but won't get involved in the political campaign.

Please.

PALIN POLITICIZING HER SON'S IRAQ TOUR OF DUTY

Palin sees everything in terms of her politics. Joe Biden's son is also going to Iraq, but he is not politicizing it! This tells you a lot about character. McCain who in 2000 vowed he will not politicize his POW experience is now doing so on a daily basis. Interesting world! What about so many veterans who have died or gotten seriously injured in America's past and current wars?

That should tell you how weak-kneed we Democrats are. Here we are, we praise Palin when the opportunity arises. Ever heard her return the favor? No, she's a smart politician. Obama is really ticking me off with his Mr. Nice Guy attitude. It won't work. He needs to take those velvet gloves off and campaign like a community organizer who knows how to get in the gutter and dirty his hands!!!

I am not a Republican.

I disagree with everything the current administration stands for.

But for some reason, I have always "liked" Condi.

I don't know why. She just seems very smart and well spoken to me.

I was hoping for a Hillary/Condi election but it was not to be.

Now that would have been a fight!

Condi said all that she could say -- she is governor and she gave a good speech. Maybe Condi should have mentioned what a wonderful mother she is (but don't mention Bristol getting pregnant at 17 and Palin view that abstinence only sex ed) and how great her journalism degree from Idaho was. Condi went to Stanford. Palin is just stupid which is the reason the Republicans will try to keep her away some reporters who ask real questions. This weekend she demonstrated she doesn't even know the role of Freddie and Fannie. I wonder what she thinks the role of the Fed is? Yet, I am sure she can talk about guns, capital punishment, antiabortion, and her crazy god stuff.

In all honesty I have felt for a long time that Condi is a key figure in keeping things from exploding. She is in constant dialogue with foreign officials....I've gained a little more respect for her after reading this. Hang in there Rice.

Rice is a war criminal. War criminals need to be indicted, not asked what they think.

Despite the fact that she is part of the wrong party, she has a brain and she knows she is far more qualified to do anything government related than her. If McCain would have pick her as her running mate, at least, he would not be a laughing stock right now.

I think there are a LOT of Republican women that will not say it openly but that are truely insulted by this little clueless beauty queen in this position. I hope that they will be real women and make the right choice (Obama) in the votin booth.
