I Like ItI Don’t Like It

"In a weekend interview, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice passed up an opportunity to defend Sarah Palin from allegations that she does not have the foreign policy experience to be vice president," ABC News reports.

In a less-than-hearty endorsement, Rice declined to say anything more positive about Palin than "she gave a terrific speech" and "she's a governor of a state here in the United States" during her interview with Zain Verjee of CNN.

Asked point-blank if Palin has enough experience, Rice said, "These are decisions that Senator McCain has made. I have great confidence in him." Confidence in Palin? Rice didn't say.

Rice added: "I'm not going to get involved in this political campaign. As Secretary of State, I don't do that. But I thought her speech was wonderful."

Via ThinkProgress, here's the video:

As TP notes, "By comparison, Rice responded to Sen. Barack Obama's pick of Sen. Joe Biden as his running mate last month by saying that 'Biden is obviously a very fine statesman.'"

Condoleeza Rice is the epitome of class and intelligence. After reading many articles on Sarah Palin, I think that many people who stand in her way either get fired or leave the political scene.

What the heck does she care...her job as bushy stooge is over, she managed to pretend to be incompetent while allowing her "mentors" to stomp all over the constitution.
She'll be back at her comfy job at that liberal (HAH) intstitution, Stanford, in no time, bet she's looking forward to it.
All you contributors and students at Stanford U can ask her the tough questions that the MSM never did.

It does not matter that Rice gave a less than hearty endorsement. The Neo-KKKons are going to win the election because Amerikkkans are stupid. The wingnut base is fired up in the toss-up states..They have a large base of neo-kkkons and a separate base of flat-earthers. We tried but Amerikkka loves being loathed and being in the Dark-Ages. We are truely a Medieval nation with superpower weapons

...even if you believe that, still go out and vote for O and make sure you tell other people to do the same. I don't want to give up on our country just yet.

You are brilliant, but I am hoping this time will be different. God bless Arianna Huffington, she tries to shed light on all this ignorance by publishing the truth. To no avail!!

Excellent, Condi. You are an intelligent, educated woman who apparently understands that Gov. Palin is not who we want as second in command. I hope you will say more.

Wow, all these kudos to Condi from the liberal blogs. Hmmm, now how could that be? I know cause she's a conservative, right? Not to worry she hasn't gone to the dark side no matter how you hope.

C. Rice, Isn't it s shame you can't say what you really think???

Sounds like Condi is not as willing to make a rediculous fool of herself in order try to cover for Palin's glaring lack of qualification for the office of VP.

"There are different experiences in life that helps one to deal with matters of foreign policy"

The right was saying that about Obama's experience. She's only left the country once to go to Kuwait and Iraq which are VERY sheltered and protected environments (as an Iraq War veteran, I know of this).

Is living close to Russia one of them?

That just about sums up the entire Republican sentiment about Palin for those that don't get caught in an interview or TV spot. The base is fired up...they have their right-winger...but that's about it. And if any of the allegations have any true play and we'll know no later than Oct 10 on the troopergate issue, it's bad news for Palin.

McCain has 10 lawyers up in Alaska changing all records, threatening people and making things right for Sarah Palin. So she will come out of this smelling like a rose.
