ROME — There's nothing stopping Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin from serving well in the White House, according to the men who now hold the nation's highest offices.

"She's had executive experience, and that's what it takes to be a capable person in here in Washington, D.C., in the executive branch," President Bush said in an interview to be shown Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends."

"John McCain made an inspired pick," Bush added. The former two-term Texas governor came to Washington without experience in national office _ the path Palin is trying to follow.

Vice President Dick Cheney told reporters in Rome on Monday that he "loved" Palin's speech to the Republican National Convention. Cheney laughed when he recounted her line about the difference between hockey moms and pit bulls being a coat of lipstick.

"I thought her appearance at the convention was superb," Cheney said. He was asked whether he thought Palin could handle the No. 2 job under a president John McCain.

"Everybody brings a different set of experiences to the office and also a different kind of understanding with whoever the president is," Cheney said during remarks at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Italy Ronald P. Spogli.

"Each administration is different," he said. "And there's no reason why Sarah Palin can't be a successful vice president in a McCain administration. Such a White House, he said, "won't look exactly like the Bush administration or the first Bush administration, the Ford administration. It'll be relatively unique to this president and this time that they're in office."

Cheney had spoken with Palin before and met her once at a governors conference, a representative of the vice president said. After McCain named her as his running mate, he called to congratulate her.

EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK Obama Helped Protect 330,000 More Illinois Women From Pay Discrimination. Obama co-sponsored the Illinois Equal Pay Act, which provided that no employer may discriminate by paying different wages solely on the basis of McCain Opposed Legislation That Would Help Women Achieve Pay Equity. McCain opposed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which sought to overturn a recent Supreme Court decision making it harder for women to challenge pay

She's a perfect fit! She shoots Moose, he shoots lawyers. That's all the experience you need and that's all the experience she has.

I just saw the news about the new poll showing McCain ahead of Obama! The Republicans have had total control of the government for 6 of the last 8 years and look where we are..the stock market is tanking, the housing market is in free fall, banks are failing, the government is having to support Fannie and Freddie, the jobless rate is higher than ever, we have 45 million people without healthcare, more and more people are living below the poverty line while the CEO's just get richer! Are the people of this country soooo STUPID that they would willing subject themselves to ANOTHER 4 years of this disaster??? McCain is Bush andl Palin is Cheney. Do we really want these two bigoted people running our country? Do they really represent the best of the American people?? Are we to be under the control of a small group of religious extremists like Sarah Palin?? We supposedly have been fighting a war on terror against religious extremists! Is a so called CHRISTIAN zealot any different than a Muslim one?
Lastly, last night, I watched the movie 13 days about the Cuban Missile Crisis. What impressed me was that the military were so determined to force an armed confrontation. Yet, it was DIPLOMACY that kept us out of nuclear war. Do we want as president a man who sees armed confrontation as the first line of response or do we want someone who is willing to negotiate??? Think about it!

George Bush had executive experience. Dick Cheney had executive experience. If it takes executive experience to be a successful in the White House. Why did they #$% it up so badly?

Because good executives LISTEN. They LISTEN to those who share simliar views; they LISTEN to those with DIFFERENT views. Good executives hire best people for the job, regardless of political political leanings. These two facts alone explain why Bush CrimeCo. have screwed up everything.

If an endorsement from Cheney doesn't serve as a giant "BUYER BEWARE" sign over Palin's head for voters, then nothing will. How stupid are we that we fall for the straight-out lies and garbage every four years...and surprise, nothing changes!

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Well I.m sure Cheney will teach her everything he knows. Uhh what a thought. McCain does not have the temperament nor the judgement to be commander in chief. The more I listen to Palin she doesn't either. She displays total contempt for people and she is very condescending. There is no way she would be able to be diplomatic with world leaders. Every other comment is some cheap shot, nothing substantial. That kind of rhetoric always backfires. She may have gotten her way in Alaska, but this is another ballgame. She is in the big leagues now

Who in their right mind would accept an endorsement made by Cheney? Repugs have got to be out of their minds, if they would do that...

So? Bill Clinton endorsed OBAMA.

And your point is what, exactly? I'm not fan of the Clintons after this year's primary, but what's your big grievance against Clinton? That he's a philanderer? That he lied? True and true.

But then again he's not a war criminal like Bush, Cheney, and company who have all but by their own hands killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, made millions of others into political, geographical, and religious refugees, all while simultaneously killing thousands of our own men and women and wasting trillions of taxpayer dollars, including monies borrowed from foreign countries that all of us and our country's children will be paying back for generations to come. Bill, at worst, may have deserved impeachment for lying. Bush, meanwhile, along with Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and others, deserve to spend the rest of their natural lives in the Hague.

Sorry, there's no comparison. Hailed by the likes of Cheney, Palin might as well have been lauded by Milosevic or Mugabe, in my opinion.

"Cheney approved"- Shouldn't that right there automatically disqualifiy anything for which the words apply as being an out and out bad idea?

Condi was a bit displeased at being discarded as veep choice with her superior experience!

No suprise then that she was ever so lukewarm with her endorsment.

Too many Elitists against Condi - they would even stoop so low as to brand her as one of "them" just to screw her and McCain. . A Powell/Condi ticket would have been ideal but McCain/Palin will have to do as the rational alternative to OBAMA/Biden.

Still, further proof why the Republicans win elections. Where was all of the Republican grousing on Condi's behalf like that for Clinton on the Democratic side? Condi's obviously more experienced, but nary a peep. Republican fall in line, lockstepping all the way to the voting booth. On election day, however, I have no doubt that there will be no shortage of people still on here, heels dug in, complaining about Clinton's primary treatment, as if that's in any way relevant to handing the country back over to the war and bible party.

Since impeachment of the current set of criminals has been taken off the table we really ARE doomed if we elect this new set... They will gladly grasp at the expanded power of the executive branch and happily abuse it.
