ROME — There's nothing stopping Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin from serving well in the White House, according to the men who now hold the nation's highest offices.

"She's had executive experience, and that's what it takes to be a capable person in here in Washington, D.C., in the executive branch," President Bush said in an interview to be shown Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends."

"John McCain made an inspired pick," Bush added. The former two-term Texas governor came to Washington without experience in national office _ the path Palin is trying to follow.

Vice President Dick Cheney told reporters in Rome on Monday that he "loved" Palin's speech to the Republican National Convention. Cheney laughed when he recounted her line about the difference between hockey moms and pit bulls being a coat of lipstick.

"I thought her appearance at the convention was superb," Cheney said. He was asked whether he thought Palin could handle the No. 2 job under a president John McCain.

"Everybody brings a different set of experiences to the office and also a different kind of understanding with whoever the president is," Cheney said during remarks at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Italy Ronald P. Spogli.

"Each administration is different," he said. "And there's no reason why Sarah Palin can't be a successful vice president in a McCain administration. Such a White House, he said, "won't look exactly like the Bush administration or the first Bush administration, the Ford administration. It'll be relatively unique to this president and this time that they're in office."

Cheney had spoken with Palin before and met her once at a governors conference, a representative of the vice president said. After McCain named her as his running mate, he called to congratulate her.

Cheney's endorsement of Palin is the equivalent of Lucifer's endorsement.

McCain/Palin is the SAME as Bush/Cheney. Both are OIL, SMITH-BARNEY, and WAR loving couples.

Cheney is a criminal and I hope he is brought to justice. I don't believe a word out of his mouth.

And rightly so, because they share absolute contempt for the constitution and the people. It must be Cheney's fond hope that McCain and Palin will complete the subversion of democracy that he and his assistant undertook during their eight disastrous years.

Seems that there's a lot of "cum bah yah" stuff going on in the republican party. This love fest of right-wingers is making me ill to my stomach. When is the news going to start reporting the truth about these folks? For a while there, they actually started making a difference...and now, when this election is sooooo critical, they want to bolster these hypocrites? Please...in other news, Russia is teaming up with Chavez...sending ships to South America...hello? This, after Cheney makes a visit to them and "spurns" them. How many wars can this country fight? Perhaps the reason Cheney, Rove, and the rest of the apocolyptic crew wanted an Alaska gov. as the VP...perhaps this is why they keep mentioning her foreign affairs experience is being right next to Russia...Sounds like a rat to me...does anyone else agree with this?

Didn't Louis Farrakhan endorse Obama?
Do we really want to go here?
Hillary was the solution and now we will lose in November because we didn't pick her!

You can't attack a working mother of 5 and expect to get elected. I'm a Hillary supporter who will vote for McCain/Palin because they represent me more than a millionaire author and a 35 year politician!

I'm not alone.

"I'm a Hillary supporter who will vote for McCain/Palin because they represent me more than a millionaire author and a 35 year politician!"

People who CLAIM to be Hillary supporters would NEVER vote McBush-Palin. A cheap imitation of Hillary is an insult to ALL women, including me.

I agree! These people claiming McCain represents them more than Obama does, obviously did not observe the make up of the republican convention. That was not a representation of all americans. That was a representation of Elite white america and the oil industry. I can guarantee you, there was not one person (maybe a student) in that hall who earned less than $200,000 a year.

PALIN IS A REPUB DISTRACTION FROM MCCAIN AND HIS RECORD. LET'S KEEP OUR EYE ON THE BALL, FOLKS.
McCain’s impaired judgment offers us:
McCain’s “soul mate” as our potential President.
More Bush smoke and mirrors.
Higher deficits for US; more debt to China; Lower minimum wage; Less safety for workers, greater wealth for the top 2 percent wealthy
No incentives for US jobs; Social Security privatization?
More illegal incarcerations/ kidnapping/ torture, loss of personal privacy, and Constitution raping.
No equal pay for equal work, no Roe vs. Wade, no legal contraceptives, no child care outside the home.
Crime will increase as the economy continues tanking.
School vouchers equal Republican’s siphoning tax dollars to evangelical schools and starving public education: our children will learn only right wing world visions. And who deserves to live in that world.
McCain’s ignorance about the Internet will create laws limiting its use.
McCain will reinstate the draft and a foreign policy in line with his warrior fantasies. His inability to think clearly endangers our nation.

Another choice: Check out Sen. Obama’s complete background in biographer David Mendell’s book, “Obama, from Promise to Power.”

If you truly support our military, please see this video and listen to our military heroes, including a Medal of Honor recipient. Thank you. JMB, former US Navy Medic.
