ROME — There's nothing stopping Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin from serving well in the White House, according to the men who now hold the nation's highest offices.

"She's had executive experience, and that's what it takes to be a capable person in here in Washington, D.C., in the executive branch," President Bush said in an interview to be shown Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends."

"John McCain made an inspired pick," Bush added. The former two-term Texas governor came to Washington without experience in national office _ the path Palin is trying to follow.

Vice President Dick Cheney told reporters in Rome on Monday that he "loved" Palin's speech to the Republican National Convention. Cheney laughed when he recounted her line about the difference between hockey moms and pit bulls being a coat of lipstick.

"I thought her appearance at the convention was superb," Cheney said. He was asked whether he thought Palin could handle the No. 2 job under a president John McCain.

"Everybody brings a different set of experiences to the office and also a different kind of understanding with whoever the president is," Cheney said during remarks at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Italy Ronald P. Spogli.

"Each administration is different," he said. "And there's no reason why Sarah Palin can't be a successful vice president in a McCain administration. Such a White House, he said, "won't look exactly like the Bush administration or the first Bush administration, the Ford administration. It'll be relatively unique to this president and this time that they're in office."

Cheney had spoken with Palin before and met her once at a governors conference, a representative of the vice president said. After McCain named her as his running mate, he called to congratulate her.

Wow,

I'm so relieved.

If Palin hadn't gotten Cheney's approval, I might have actually entertained the thought that she wasn't qualified.

But now, with Cheney's blessing, I can see that I was worried for nothing.

I worried for nothing that it took her six years attending six different undistinguished collegest o earn a Bachelors in Broadcast Journalism.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/ats-ap-cvn-pali...

that her only political experience is winning a mayoral race that the Anchorage Daily News reported thusly:

"Palin's victory was seen as a major upset . . . with a final tally of 616-413."

http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/510192.html

and an Alaskan gubernatorial race with 114,697 votes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_gubernatorial_election,_2006

that she evidently didn't have a passport before July 2007 and only obtained one to visit Alaskan National Guard in Kuwait and Germany.

http://www.worldhum.com/weblog/item/how_does_sarah_palin_rank_in_fo...

that she has absolutely no national or international experience.

And will assume the Presidency if McCain's 72 year-old body fails.

I can stop worrying that her religious affiliation makes Reverend Wright look like the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The 'kiss' of death from the political Godfather. She is a wholly own subsidiary of Bush & Co.

Even Condi Rice and beans has more qualifications than this woman. Condi realizes that Palin make all accomplished women look bad.

They didn't bring her on the ticket for any of her "experience". They knew she'd pick up the religious/redneck vote that didn't like McCain.

If, God help us, she was to become VP, she's not runnin' anything. Her job is to smile pretty, talk about how you're taking on the "good 'ole boys" but don't think about taking on any "good 'ole boys". Cheney will somehow still be pulling puppet strings along with Rove.

Dick has assimilated her into the dark side of the force. He then had them cut thumbs and he shared some of his evil machine oil with her as his blood sister.

So now Cheney is voicing his approval of Governor Palin, huh? But how can this be when she said she was an agent of change who was going to fight the good fight to clean up everything he has done over the past 8 years?????

I don't think anyone believed he wouldn't like her, but a pretty tepid endorsement, at best. Even Cheney couldn't really find anything good to say about her other than "nice line" - and it was a nice line.

I looked up "pit bull" and "barracuda"; the terms Sara Palin and those who have known her well, use to describe her personality traits.

Pit Bull: One who behaves in a markedly aggressive or ruthless manner.
Barracuda: a treacherous, greedy person.

I didn't cherry pick these out of a hundred possible meanings. These are the only ones that describe people. The only other meanings describe a dog and a fish. Even I was surprised that this is all there is. You can look it up yourself. www.dictionary.com

Of course Cheney approves of Palin.
She's a tool and will serve her purpose well, just like Bush did, being manipulated from behind the scenes as a vapid, vacant smiling face repeating hateful and divisive speeches to push the NeoCon agenda.
They are only changing the packaging.

So what else is new?

So wait, Bush and Cheney approve of Palin? Both of them?! Really?!! Why didn't anyone tell me... I must have been mistaken all along about this vixen from the northlands - She must be fantastic! She must be intelligent, adept and knowledgeable about policy and the challenges facing the US and the wider world. She must have a command of the issues impacting all Americans, and have a deep empathy and compassion for those among us who struggle and strive. She must embrace diversity and defend civil liberties, and the universal right to dignity of all humanity. She must exercise fiscal restraint and have the vision and will to secure a safe future and planet for our children. She must be exactly like Bush and Cheney...sign me up if she rates that kind of support!
