Politico:

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch, who endorsed and worked for George W. Bush in 2004, is endorsing Obama today, NY1 first reported.

I asked Koch just now what prompted the move.

"The designation of Palin to be vice president," he said. "She's scary."

He said he was alarmed by the report that she'd triggered a conflict with the local librarian in Wasilla, Alaska by inquiring about the possibility of banning books.

"Scary" is exactly the right word to burst the Palin balloon. This is exactly the word the right wing is trying to embed in the minds of low information types about Obama. Let's get it out there: Palin is indeed scary, very scary. For this country I mean, let alone bear and wolves and moose in Alaska.

Ed is a weathervane of NY politics. He supported Bush in 2004 to no surprise of those who have followed the mayor's career. Yet, his decision to support Obama at this point represents a significant shift in this sector of moderate and conservative Democrats. I am sure Ed would have been supporting Mccain if Lieberman or Ridge were on the ticket. Palin is too much to handle.

I am sure Rudy Giuliani who is a member in good standing of NY moderate Republicans is getting a lot of negative reactions from his close associates. They may not do so openly but their support in contributions and hosting events for Mccain will be more difficult to pull off.

I see Ed Koch is sane again, after supporting W and the war in Iraq specifically. Oh well, glad to have you back Ed.

Now get down to florida and get Obama the votes he should have.

And he admitted exactly from where his insanity stemmed. The very first paragraph of his explanation for supporting W. is unbelievable to me that he actually believed that about muslims and the power of Al qaeda. There was nothing, but the Bush administration promoting the idea that they were that powerful. What feeds Al Qaeda is America's bad policies around the world. It is crazy to me to let the crazy ideas of some fringe group, then make you crazy yourself unless you are extremely susceptible to propaganda. I thought they called my people paranoid.

To paraphrase Lyndon Johnson, "If we've lost Ed Koch, we've lost middle America."

That this miserable, vindictive zombie Republican finds P*alin "scary" speaks volumes.

I feel that no one knows this woman and she'll be a hair breadth away from the presidency. Funny how the Repubs find that okay - probably for her nitwit christian right views rather than any common sense sort of thing.

And the democrats need to be out there, reminding people of this hypocrisy and double standard! Ed Rendell was perfect in his speech the other day, I hope he and his colleagues keep it up!

The world is wondering 'WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH AMERICANS'

hOW THE HELL DID THEY VOTE BUSH X 2.

And guess what, they are wondering how the hell is SIDEKICK & CO. so high in the polls.

It is now official that a large chunk of Americans are the dumbest in the world.

CNN reported a few days ago that a new poll shows if the world votes Obama/Biden will win 70% of the votes.

By the way Koch is right. Spot on, plus the world believes so too.

If Ed Koch is jumping ship to Obama, this spells certain doom for McCain's support among moderate Republicans and right of center Wall Street Republicans who cannot stomach the rabid radical right views of Sarah Palin. These tend to be conservative on economic issues but remain socially liberal on issues such as a women's right to choose, separation of church and state etc... Koch has been a fairly conservative voice among Democrats and was an early supporter of Hillary Clinton. If he is making this move now, it is only because Ed is very plugged into the Wall street community and moderate Democrats who were flirting with McCain but cannot support him. He is reading the signs of deterioration in the Republican attempts to paint McCain as a maverick.

She is so far to the right that even certain groups of evangelicals don't share her views. The moderates who care about the environment are one of those groups. Once the quick, hot honeymoon is over and people start understanding what her views are, I think we'll see more people back away from her.

Nice one

that, and this, which is, I assume, on every billboard in the land (why not?)

http://www.thepresidentialcandidates.us/about-sarah-palin-a-letter-from-anne-kilkenny/741/

should wrap it up

when there's a bumper sticker that reads 'MoonBat Crazy Palin', I want one

meanwhile, just to finish it,

Remember, 'Jesus was a community worker. Pontius Pilate was a Governor'

Koch said:

> Frankly, it would scare me if she were to succeed John McCain in the presidency.

I cannot agree more, and I just expressed this same fear to my family last night.

First, America followed Barack Obama as the new star... now, America follows Sarah Palin. Seriously, what would the rest of the world impression about America? As an American citizen, America is floating in lack of foundation and about to be sinked. America needs to search for wisdom and drop nonsense. The consequence will be great if America does not reconsider. I am an independent not a Republican and not a Democrat. In fact, my family will leave the Unites states because we are ashamed before the world. There is a time for everything under the sun...a time for nonsense and a time to sit and realize.

"CANBERRA (Reuters) - Just one can of the popular stimulant energy drink Red Bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, even in young people, Australian medical researchers said on Friday. The caffeine-loaded beverage, popular with university students and adrenaline sport fans to give them "wings", caused the blood to become sticky, a pre-cursor to cardiovascular problems such as stroke.

Ummm, didn't Mc Cain's campaign call Sa rah Pa lin a shot of Red Bull....???
