McCain Camp: Biden "Sunk To A New Low" On Stem Cell Research

John McCain's campaign hit back hard at Joe Biden Tuesday after the Democratic VP candidate appeared to suggest Republicans who do not support stem cell research -- like GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin -- are lacking in their support of children with disabilities.

"Barack Obama's running mate sunk to a new low today launching an offensive debate over who cares more about special needs children," McCain-Palin spokesman Ben Porritt said. "Playing politics with this issue is disturbing and indicative of a desperate campaign."

The sharp response, indicative of the increasingly heated rhetoric from both presidential campaigns as the election enters the final stretch, came shortly after Biden said advocates for people with disabilities should support stem cell research.

Is John McCain Mentally Qualified to be President if he is suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)? He was a POW for nearly six years and his temperment is really bad. I saw the cover of People magazine this morning, and was a bit disturbed. Now, to be honest, I don't know if I felt this way because I'm a Democrat and don't like Palin, or if I feel this way as an objective human being...Ho­wever, knowing how she is parading her children and their problems around, I'm inclined to believe it's the latter...S­he is holding her baby up facing the camera so that the viewer can immediately tell he has Down's Syndrome. The thing to me is that she looks like she's holding him very awkwardly.­..sort of like she's a Price is Right model modeling a prize package. I thought when I saw it, "Wouldn't it be more natural and maternal to hold this young infant in close to her chest...cu­ddling him?" That's how I would have held my baby. She looks like she's displaying him VERY awkwardly and uncomfortably. Not just uncomfortable for her, but also for the baby. It was just strange. Anyone else see that?

Will someone tell the McCain campaign that it's OK to challenge the "stuff" they are spewing. Tell them that not everyone is afraid to make comments on issues that impact the American people. Tell them this election for president is not about Sarah Palin. Tell them there are 49 other states with lots more people that actually care what happens in our country. Tell them if they want to keep Sarah Palin in hiding that's fine but we has a voting people have a right to hear from everyone who is willing to speak. At this point, there is nothing Sarah Palin could say to me as a woman that would convince me she has substance. Gov Palin should have been on the campaign trail on day two and if she wasn't ready then guess what? It means she's not ready to be VP.

She also cut special olympics funding by over 50%. I mean she has NEVER been an advocate for the disabled or handicapped in her entire very short tenure as governor or mayor.
