Washington Post:

Fairfax County school officials said that a rally scheduled tomorrow for Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, will be moved from Fairfax High School, following protests from some School Board members and parents that the event would violate school system policy.

The decision to move the event was made by the McCain campaign, Fairfax schools spokesman Paul Regnier said. He could not specify the new location.

The McCain campaign sent out statement that did not address the controversy. "Due to the overwhelming response from voters in Virginia, the space at the field house at Fairfax High School will no longer be able to hold everyone who wants to attend this rally," the statement said. "We have had double the amount of people respond than we originally expected. In order to accommodate everyone, we need to move the event to a location we are working on now."

They were looking for photo-ops with school kids, even though they have made it clear that,to them ,kids are better off without education.

The real problem I have is why is this being held at a public school? I don't think any candidate should be allowed to use a public school for any political election function. I could careless what lie he's telling about the move and going on and on about it is petty. By focusing on the little issue the bigger issue is being missed, as usual. Thank God some in the school board had enough sense to say move it off school grounds.

Were you aware that Senator Obama is going to be greeted at Granby High School during school hours today?

The event is billed as a "town hall meeting for select teachers and parents to discuss education reform. Although students are not included, the candidate will tour a classroom, said Michael Spencer, Norfolk schools chief operations officer. "

Politics is forever changing it's face. Call it a town meeting and you can meet at a public school. Going into a class room is bringing politics into the school. Rules have become "selectively" enforced.

Our children are being taught that there is always an exception to the rule.

Difference is they want him there. McBush is always using people for his benefit that don't want to help him - like his use of the "Heart " song against their protests. Republicans just use people - plain and simple - until they are all used up.

Your boy should take his old a s s to a private school, since he wants to gut the public system in favor of vouchers.

McCain is purely political. Everything he does is measured with that reference. I bet he can't wait to tell kids about his POW days.

They probably will move to a smaller place, and if they move to a bigger one it will be half empty. I don't blame the school board, what kind of example are this pair for the children, when everybody is hearing about the disingenous ads and statements.

Plus, I'm sure the aschool administrators had questions.

For instance, Palin knows that a working woman makes 77 cents to every dollar a working man makes, so why does she oppose the EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK legislation that would further empower working women - a position identical to her mentors Bush and McCain? What is her plan for health care?

Why did she cut funding for teenage mothers? Why did she cut funding for WIC recipients? Why did she cut "special needs" funding by 62% - especially since she has a "special needs" child? Why did she disrespect community organizers in BLUE & RED States?

Why does she believe there shouldn't be an abortion exception for victims of rape and incest - in light of the high incidents of rape and incest in Alaska? With the next president set to name three Supreme Court Justices, would Palin support Justices who seek to eradicate ROE v. WADE, and, seek to obliterate affirmative action, which mostly benefits white women?

Why did Sarah Palin say that Hillary Clinton's "whining" turned her off, and then turn around and heap praise on Hillary? How does Palin feel about John McCain going to the Stugis, SD BIKE RALLY where he offered his wife up for highly sexualized Ms. Buffalo Chip contests which requires banana swallowing and pickle licking? And does Palin really believe Cindy McCain when she said Palin has foreign policy experience because Alaska is just across from Russia?

These people lie so smoothly it is scary. CNN only ran the part about them needing a larger venue because of the demand. Well, well, well seems the ugly part of this campaign will have to be washed out with truth and swift emails to all of our friends and family.

I am creating an email about all the ugly under Sarah's make up. The mask must come off.

What is it with the so-called "liberals" who are as sexist as any right wing slime ball?
Is there some license that makes sexism among liberals more acceptable than racism?

I agree she has been pimping her own family to try and boost her career. S he acts like her son voluntarily signed up for the service. Which in fact he is avoiding jail time. so that's why I hop[e every one floods the meia with anything they have on her. because they have not been doing their job in investigating her. The only one that has taken a stand right now is DIDDY and I am not a fan of his at all. Is this what americans have come to after eight years of. Bush in office americas are saying that. we want four more years of this . if so than that's sad and ameicans will get what they deserve.

Whenever I've applied for a job, or reviewed job applicants, what was on the resume mattered a great deal. Whether male or female, qualifications - or lack thereof - were the prime consideration. So it's amazing to see that when it comes to one of the most important jobs in the world - the U.S. Presidency - everyone's arguing about whether Heartbeat-Away-Palin is a pig with lipstick or a right wing nut or has messy family baggage - when the plain truth is that she does not deserve even the first cut to be on a national office ticket. Other Republican women who are far better qualified should be ticked as hell - you've just been walked all over by your male counterparts in the Republican party. Male Republicans ought to be ticked, too, because it was a blatant campaign move to choose a woman despite her inexperience, and not in the best interest (to say the least!) for our country. And Democrats ought to be mad as hell enough to call this BS what it really is, and stop tip-towing around the elephant in the room. This country is in danger right now, and to put a political neophyte, no matter how cute she is, shows a total disregard for what is best for our country.

I think "Countdown" is still on...I watched it tonight. They took Keith and Matthews off the election anchoring job they had during the conventions...got a little too testy, I guess. The guy in TX...call the cable company...quick! Of course, the way things are going, McCain probably had it taken off the air and told them they could come back on when he thinks they're ready to be nice to him! A#$.
