Obama Tough

ABC's Political Punch:

Last October, asked about Sen. Hillary Clinton's health care plan, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., was blunt.

McCain said Clinton's proposal was "eerily" similar to the ill-fated plan she devised in 1993.

"I think they put some lipstick on a pig," he said, "but it's still a pig."

A common expression, right?

McCain surely wasn't calling Clinton a pig.

Every time I hear Obama say that Americans aren't that stupid, I want to scream, 'yes, they are.' My opinion of the American voter is that too many are somewhere between dumb and dumber and absolutely stupid as far as paying attention to candidates. Plus the media plays to this stupidity. Obama's going to have to dumb down his ads to appeal to those who speak in 3 word sentences of single syllables. How about: Ground Hog Day--McCain/Bush or McCain/Bush Deja Vu All Over Again. Okay, I'm no ad writer but Obama is somehow going to have to connect to those who have no desire to listen to a thoughtful, reasoned response. I was a Republican until this year and I can tell you I am so ashamed because I bought into the Kerry swiftboating. So I guess I should say, 'yes, WE are...that stupid.'

Now THAT"S a scandal.

if you voted for Liberman in 2000, you are doing your country a disservice for not voting for McCain in 2008. Plain and simple.

I sure hope part of Obama's education reform includes tuition to send my kids to private school (like he does, to the tune of $20,260 a year per child.)

Maybe Michelle can help my wife get a $317,000 a year job as a PR rep for a hospital that turns away uninsured Blacks.

Then again . . . . probably never happen.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have worked hard to get their education and do well in life. They are doing all they can to see to it that every American has an opportunity to do as well as they have. John McCain has never known a poor day in his life. His mother was an Oil Heiress and of course he married a beer distributor Heiress. He has voted with George Bush 90% of the time and has no plan or desire to help you or anyone else attain the life-style that he lives.
03:56 PM on 09/10/2008
AND he graduated last in his class, so tell me, what kind of education did McCain get ? He and his wife never worked a day in their lives. I can't even imagine what that must be like. So tell me ? How do they know how real people, the majority, feel ?
12:18 PM on 09/10/2008
People People for those that are panicing don't. Obama/Biden should and will stick to the issues including john mccains abysmal voting record including not funding equipment for the troops.
12:36 PM on 09/10/2008
misstatement of facts. He voted for significant troop funding but not the "additional" troop spending bill which included all the liberal earmarks. check the record besides repeating the same dreck
01:32 PM on 09/10/2008
that's still "funding". Read his statement again.

Also, it's not as misleading as McCain saying that Obama will raise taxes on everyone, dispite Obama's plan clearly being that he will only raise the taxes on the rich. (not the $5million rich, but the $250,000 plus rich)

:
1)The Economy-focusing on the 6,000 jobs lost. Continue to aggressively mentoin this and tell the voters what you will do to help create new jobs.
2)Mccains voting record-this candidate's voting record is the pits. Not voting for funding for the troops would be a good start. and keep repeating that argument.
3)Healthcare-Identenfy in a direct in simple why your plan is better-Mccain has no plan
4)education
5) The Iraq War and why it's draining this country. It'a an occupation not a war period!
6) Do a better job identifying the oil drilling myth. Drill! Drill! is bogus!
Also there should be mentoin of the so-called bush tax cuts that was supposed to strengthen the economy? I believe this package will expire in 2011.
Lastly, I think that we all know that Palin is nothing more than a distraction. This is Mccains "Clinton" and we know in terms of her weak voting record, her so values, etc do not compare to Clinton's( that's why to exent the polls are bogus and I felt that way when Obama was in the lead) record. Mccain is using her. He wants the womans vote and he has made the decision that will be his running mate. Look it's only been less thatn 5 days since the bounce. Let the chips fall in as they may. Move away from palin and focus on Mccain! More info about Palin will come out and this will all reflect on one person-Mccain.
11:56 AM on 09/10/2008
I think the analogy of pigs and lipstick has worn thin because of its frequent use by politicians over the past several years. Anyway the use of "barracuda" to introduce Palin at all her public appearances does beg for all kinds of comparisons. Some flattering and some not so-- A fierce, pikelike fish of the tropical seas.

Hi Bob
Who was the number one contributor to George junior ?
11:45 AM on 09/10/2008
Mc Cains idea of change is pushing that little red button and vaporizing Americans.
