I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Obama hit the McCain campaign hard today over their attempts to claim the mantle of change.

[WATCH]

OBAMA: Let's just list this for a second. John McCain says he's about change, too. Except -- and so I guess his whole angle is, "Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health-care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics. We're really gonna shake things up in Washington." That's not change. That's just calling some -- the same thing, something different. But you know, you can -- you know, you can put lipstick on a pig; it's still a pig.

Palin is the distraction Barack talked about--how the Reps bury the real issues in identity politics. Palin is pretty, especially when she smiles. don't use attractive pics of her in any ads. What about the ide hat you have this old, over-the-hill cocker hiding behind her youth and vigor?? He doesn't have any. He is over the hill, and is not aging well.

Obama's magic has always been his ability to inspire thousands at a hit--why all this video feed in Podunk? Its okay, but it has no political sex appeal. His image is suffering in these hemming and hawing close-up interviews.
Obama needs some of the charismatic magic, along with the down to earth stuff.
Palin and McCain look like an old man with his trophy girl in an exciting love affair.
Show us some of your flash and dash, Obama---we're not married to you yet!!

If the news ignored the stupid and gave false attacks one sentence of explanation for every 5 lines of rebuttal, I have a feeling candidates might find discussing the issues to be of value instead of zinging each other on personality issues or false information attacks.

I agree. What Obama's campaign needs to do is highlight the age issue. There was a recent poll that showed more people were worried about McCain's age than Obama's race. They need to shine some light on this and it will naturally also focus the attention on Palin's lack of experience and weaknesses. This should be a natural target but I haven't seen them go after this yet. They should be able to do it easily.

McCain is old, has had cancer and Palin is inexperienced. Lets focus on that one.

When know that 1/2 of us are not thinking about the issues then its clear that Americans are "stupid" and the Repubs are banking on it. Why else would they put a "token" candidate on the ticket a hairs breath away from the Presidency and get away with it. Are American outraged? No, like little "air headed" Ken and Barbie dolls we rush to see the "Hot babe and wrinkly old man" show.

I do not understand why everyone is sitting around amazed at the "race tightening".

Wake up "stupid". They lied and sold us the IRAQ war. Americans (all but a few) got on our knees and swallowed it hook line and sinker. They "put lipstick on that pig" and we bought it.

They are doing it again .. and half or more of America is buying

What's worst?? Democrats are wimps, wussies, and punks. WE let these folks get away with it. We are so afraid of offending someone, we respond with these PC (politically correct) nuanced rain dances.

These folks are liars and they are lying. We need to call it for what it is damn it and not apologize for it. We are bringing a Ginsu knife to a Uzi fight. As righteous as it may feel turning the other cheek, we need to drop these suckers with a good political "beat down'.

We need to "Release the Hounds of Hell".

Obama, ignore Palin completely. Mocking her will only make you look desparate. Focus on McCain. He's your opponent, not Palin. Let Biden and journalists (except Fox News ones and Glen Beck) deal with her. Journalist have been digging her dirty secrets such as using government money (our tax money) for staying at her home. Let journalists do their job. Your focus should be on McCain. If you loose your focus, you'll loose the election. Keep focused. Pray for the courage of a lion.

Search You Tube McCain/Fred Thompson, used the exact same words/metaphor to describe Hillary's policies.

Another example of Bush/Rove/McCain spin. Dirty politics and lies. I wish someone would call Palin a pig, as Mayor she was for charging Rape victims for their kits. They must think American's have amnesia & don't remember these facts?

But again, this kind of spin on an old political analogy feeds the hungry bigoted rednecks who luuuuv to spew hate and play victim.

Tomfl78--you have fallen prey to mantra/lie the Rethugs have used for so long now that you believe it. You need to be more open minded & listen to what Obama actually says. Obama is planning to CUT taxes for the middle class (which I assume you and the rest of us are) & get rid of the tax cut for the RICH that Bush implemented & McCain plans to keep.

Don't you find it rather odd that the ultra weathy are getting tax cuts while the rest of the us in America have to pay more and more each year just to live a normal life. It is very sad that the oil companies have made billions in profit and the that it is perfectly ok for CEOs in this country to make millions. We need to stand together and fight the real enemy, which is not Barack Obama, but rather the politicians (ie Bush, Cheney, McCain) who have no concept of what the financial struggles of the American people and support a policy that rewards big companies and the wealthy. That is one of the issues that we will be voting for this November. So if you are Republican that is fine, but don't keep spouting the crap that they use to lie about the Dems. Obama's message has been for us all to come together and get this country back on track. Do you really like what Bush has done to this country??

OBAMA WILL PREVAIL

The only problem I have with Obama is that he sometimes over thinks the answer to a simple question. For example, Keith Olberman asked him last night if it was wrong for the GOP to use footage of graphic 9/11 images during the GOP convention and he totally over answered the question. His answer should have been a blunt YES. Sometimes being blunt gets you there and shows that you're confident with your answer. Never the less, OBAMA-BIDEN 08 all the way!

This is the 2nd dumbest cry of offensive comment I've heard this year.

The first was here in Dallas when a white county commissioner said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office. That offended a black commisioner and judge. We all know that a black hole is a science term and that's what he meant it as.

Now this with Barack. Please...."lipstick on a pig" is such an old saying...like Huckabee said. It's a term used by many, generally in reference to someone who may be trying to make something look appealing or attractive when it quite clearly will not work, or will only deceive the dumbest of people. Well I guess by crying foul...the dumbest of people will follow.

It amazes me how the Republicans can do no wrong but the let the Dems do something and they are all over it. McCain used the same analogy about Hillary's health care plan almost a year ago. I guess senility is setting in...he forgot....what else will he forget if elected?

When It comes down to the "First (I'll use the politically correct description) African American" presidential candidate and having a woman like Sarah Palin hitting the political stage, I concur, "Issues". . What are "issues"? Let's just say, that Sarah Palin is currently helping, and will continue to help John McCain through to November.

Barak Obama is clearly worried about Sarah Palin and I'm sure he's thinking "Why didn't I think of that"? He's probably meeting with his campaign directors, secretly, covertly, asking if he can change his mind about the other guy he's chosen and If, the Democratic party has any lady politicians that equal Sarah Palin, in any way, shape or form, or is there any other ladies as hot as she is interested in being his VP choice, or something close, at least.

Keep thinking that. The dem. party and Sen. O.b.ama are pleased with his pick. We are not the ones having to wonder who Sen. Biden is and what unknowns are out there. Sen. O.b.ama is a confident man who has the intellectual ability to continue to bring his message on issues to the people, even if it's not reported. Only the reps and corporate media are hyped by lies and trash talk while everyone else is seeking information on issues.

We're not the ones having to hide our VP pick for fear that if he opens his mouth, mountains of ignorance and verbal diarrhea will come spilling out.
