Palin

The Wall Street Journal reports on another Sarah Palin firing -- one that sheds light on the way she mingled personal and political business:

Sarah Palin and John Bitney go way back. They were in the same junior-high band class. Mr. Bitney was a key aide in Gov. Palin's 2006 gubernatorial campaign. When she took office, she gave Mr. Bitney a job as her legislative director, and a few months later stood beside him at a news conference and praised his work.

"Whatever you did, you did it right," she told Mr. Bitney and his team.

Seven weeks later she fired Mr. Bitney for what her spokeswoman now describes as "poor job performance."

What happened in between? According to Mr. Bitney, Gov. Palin got a call from another old friend, Scott Richter, informing her that his wife, Debbie Richter, and Mr. Bitney were having an affair. Mr. Bitney had kept that secret from the governor, even as he told her of his divorce, he said.

...

When Gov. Palin was notified by Mr. Richter in July 2007, she called Mr. Bitney into her office. She already knew he was going through a divorce, and, Mr. Bitney said, he had "led her to believe there weren't going to be any more surprises."

Mr. Bitney said the governor "indicated to me that she was hurt, disappointed and upset, and that she didn't know what she wanted to do."

A few days later, Gov. Palin's chief of staff "indicated to me that I needed to leave the governor's office," Mr. Bitney said.

The Politico has more:

While Palin's office framed the departure as an "amicable" mutual decision, Bitney told Politico that Sarah and Todd Palin "were upset with me about my divorce and who I was dating, and they didn't want that in the governor's office. I wanted to stay with the governor and support the governor -- we're talking about someone who's been a friend for 30 years -- but I understood it, and I have no ax to grind over the whole thing."

Still, Bitney took a line from the "Seinfeld" character Elaine, deeming Palin "a bad breaker-upper."

Palin also fired, according to the Politico, "a campaign adviser whose mother-in-law fought Palin's legislative agenda, a local political mentor who she felt represented the "old boys' network," a police chief who she said tried to intimidate her with "stern look[s]" and a state commissioner who refused to fire her sister's ex-husband."

DON'T "COMPALIN "- VOTE, AND VOTE OBAMA. ASK YOUR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS AND FAMILY TO VOTE OBAMA. WORK FOR OBAMA AND WORK FOR A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS. CALL THE MSM AND MAKE SURE THEY DON'T LOSE THIS MOMENTUM FOR TRUTH AND CHANGE. AGITATE AGAINST MCCAIN AND PALIN, AND ALL THE GOP CRONIES THAT THINK 2008 WILL BE BUSINESS AS USUAL. DRUM THEM OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT, AND RESTORE THE CONSTITUTIONAL IDEALS. TIME TO TAKE BACK AMERICA.!!!

Is this all you can dig up on Sarah Palin? Please. This is no different from Rachel MadCow's debut diatribe about Ms. Palin last evening: All innuendo, opinion, conjecture, jealous allegations, etc., but NO FACTS! But keep up the good work all you naysayers-- every time you throw dirt, McCain/Palin pick up some more thens of thousands of independent voters. Yup, can't wait 'till November 4!

She also canned a landscaper at the governors mansion for seeing her beating her kids. Oh yes, lets not forget the secretary that witnssed her tearing off the fedral tag from her mattress. She is terrible !!! All this scandal...my God.

It just boggles the mind how somebody can fit so much cronyism, corruption, and abuse of power into such a short political history! just when you think there can't be anymore....POW!

Don't forget the librarian she fired, after asking her (three times) "rhetorical questions" about banning books Palin's church didn't like.

She hired her back after a hundred or so people rallied for the librarian.

Spiro Agnew also serve the country, elected as a governor of Maryland. He later went on to become vice president, only to be forced to resign when it was revealed that he had accepted bribes while governor.

Now, go google "troopergate" and you'll see the sort of corruption your "lucky woman" has been cooking up.

Last I checked, a governor or president or mayor can hire and fire whomever they want.

It's her administration. If she doesn't want certain people in it, so be it.

Same with Clinton, Obama, or whomever. If they don't want certain people in their administration, they have the right to hire/fire them.

What's the big deal?

Obviously for Republicans that she is corrupt is no big deal. Alaska must have no HR department and she can abuse her office as she pleases. But, Republicans are simply picking up where they left off...More Bush Gonzales corruption.

Sounds like Palin was as ill as Kim Jong-Ill. John McCain to Palin: if we can't fight Kim Jong-Ill, join him. I have the violence and you have the tricks - what a pair.

I would like to know when will Mrs. Palin e-mails come available. This woman is not a saint. I cannot understand why the media and the Republicans are trying to hide this woman background. Just recently, I seen several pictures of the Palin's family drinking. It appeared that Sarah was dress like a hooker. Who could explain that? If Obama's family had a reputation like the Palin's family somebody would ask Obama to resign. People donot let Mrs Palin fool you all behind those country glasses.

Stick to the issues? I keep forgeting them because I haven't heard what McCain and Palin stand for except what they don't like or what they say against Barack. I know Palin's beliefs against abortion, gun control, sex education, did God create the earth, does she hear God personally telling her (like Bush) that she should keep the war going. McCain keeps bringing up his POW days and now a photo of him as a POW is surfacing (great timing!), so, MY issues are the economy, housing, healthcare, unity, jobs, crime, education--but only Barack is speaking about this but he keeps getting sidetracked by McCain's ad stating that Barack wants sex taught to babies (accusing him of perversion) SO, this is why we (the public) keep getting off the issues. McCain and Palin keep hitting below the waist. Pure dirt.
