I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sarah Palin's stump speeches have largely stuck to the same script (what the AP describes as "a greatest hits of her convention speech). However, one line that constantly shows up is that Palin said "thanks, but no thanks, to that 'bridge to nowhere.'" Palin's claim of opposing the 'bridge to nowhere' has proven to be a stretch, yet she keeps repeating the same line. Watch Palin use this exact line in seven different stump speeches since the end of the Republican Convention.

People, please, can we rachet back the hatred and angst ? Here is exactly what she said about this bridge in 2006, while running for governor ...

"""The money that’s been appropriated for the project,”it should remain available for a link, an
access process as we continue to evaluate the scope and just how best to just get this done.”"""

The town of Ketchikan is not "no where", but it is a very small town of 50 people, and it does need a better link than it currently has. Speaking factually, she did not support the bridge as it was conceived by Ted Stevens.

If you think the bridge was a boondoogle, you need to read more about the gas pipeline:

Lipstick on a pig. How about this, McCain called his wife a c*nt. Now that should be the debate. If McCain treats his own wife like that, he will not care at all about your wife or your family or you.

"Never tell a lie. But, if you must, never tell more than one a year, because nobody's memory is that good." She's already getting caught on the lies.

See what the Republicans are up to now... Is this 2008 or 2000?

That's a GREAT message for the GOP to send to all of those struggling citizens who are having a difficult enough time as it is. Maybe John McCain can lend them one of HIS homes for them to have a temporary address with which to register to vote!!

I'm not one to tell others what to do but posting on Huffington Post, while definitely worthwhile, does little but preach to the choir.

I suggest joining some local online papers in swing states and posting your comments there. Your voice is more likely to heard and your influence more likely to be felt.

Let's use this internet thing to it's fullest potential.

FORGET PALIN! FOCUS ON McCAIN! Swing voters want to be told who NOT to vote for. To do that Obama MUST ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!

As often as possible, refer to John McCain"s policies as "tired and old". Say it over-and-over. (Tired and old, get it?)

It's the Economy stupid! Say over-and-over:
"John McCain and George W. Bush don"t care about you or your family."
"They don"t understand what you"re going through in this economy."
"They say you"re "whiners" because you want a good job!”
“They say you"re "whiners" because you want a roof over your head!”
“They say that your economic pain is in your head!"
"They don"t get it, they don"t care.”
“They only want to take care of the millionaires and billionaires Not you!"

And when Obama is questioned about "The Surge", he should ONLY say:

"We have the best soldiers and commanders in the world. And the decline in violence is a success that belongs to all 140,000 of them, NOT only the 30,000 that were sent in during the Anbar Awakening and the Shiite Ceasefire."

THEN HE MUST PIVOT AND ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! by saying:

"What the American people must do on election day is repudiate Bush"s judgment, repudiate Cheney"s judgment, AND repudiate John McCain judgment to invade Iraq in the first place. They LIED and more than 4,000 of America"s finest died. They LIED and TRILLIONS of your tax dollars vanished."

GROW UP OR LOSE!!

"I've got a Bridge to sell you," is her spiel, and it certainly is to nowhere!

Obama and Biden should be reminding people that "they're selling you a Bridge," -- a Bridge from the failed Bush policies to the truthless Orwellian Republican White House of the next administration.

The Bridge from Bush to McCain should really be emphasized.

McSame and the Republicans have offered a "brochure" VP Pick. This has got to be the biggest SHAM in political history. NO PUBLIC Questions & Answers! NO LIVE DISCUSSIONS WITH THE PRESS! If she was not ready to take questions on DAY ONE, she is just NOT READY! SHE HAS NO FOREIGN POLICY Experience. NO International Experience. NO National Security Experience. NO INTEGRITY. The last two weeks have been outrageous! America is in a crisis and the Republicans have been pushing a celebrity style (just look cute and give a good performance for the camera) agenda on the American People. Kick the Republicans OUT of the WHITEHOUSE! ENOUGH!

The point is that funding a "bridge to nowhere" is wasteful of tax dollars. The fact that Sarah Palin may have ulltimately said "no" to the bridge she kept the money nonetheless. The taxpayers money flew off down the sewer anyway.

So does anyone really wonder why they are keeping her away from reporters' questions?

I say hound the McCain campaign night and day until Palin agrees to have a press conference--unscripted, no pre-screened questions, no post-editing.

News Flash! An e-mail circulating is that Track Palin spent part of his senior year in Michigan. Why was he not attending high school in Alaska? The e-mail contends that Track was given the choice of going to jail for armed robbery or to serve in Iraq.

So far Palin herself confirmed that her son was in Michigan for part of his senior year. Anybody have information on the armed robbery rumour?

Go back to convention footage and look carefully at his expression - hard and scared.

whoa, Seems Track was a partier in HS. Got drunked up one night did some VANDALISM. Check facts!. I should start a website saying: "ALL news about ALL Palin scandals in Alaska newspapers."

Coincidentally, I was reading newspaper stories re: Bristol-Sarah-who's the momma in one Alaska paper, while YouTube guy was making and posting THE original video.

I just got lucky. Decided to search Palin cause I saw her on 60 Minutes. After that show, I'd a few things about her. I WISH I'd found babygate or troopergate then. I could've been THE news 5 minutes after McCain's announcement. THAT would have been fun.

Anyway, Track, got drunk, broke some stuff, but NO armed robbery. If the TRUE stories get exaggerated they get discounted and the entire story is ignored.

Track did spent MOST of his senior year in Michigan. He came back for his diploma. His patriotic 9.11 enlistment? It was a "go to jail or join the Army, son". Very common, happened a LOT during Vietnam. Lost a couple friends that way.

Doubt it happened on 9.11. Palin uses EVERYBODY for her political advancement: son-daughter-baby. 'First-dude' is her 'Cheney'. Seems he was frequently CC'd on state biz emails.

I think the "Thanks" is her admission that she wanted the bridge and the "No thanks" is her changing her mind. So really in her mind she's not lying. She said "thanks" and then decided after it was politically stupid, "no thanks" - that's why she keeps repeating it. Unfortunately the people listening to her are interpreting it as normal people would - that it's a lie. But at least she was polite all along.

Because being polite is really more important than telling the truth? PU-H-LEEEZ!!! She said "no thanks" after Congress recinded the project and AFTER she had already taken over 200 million dollars of the ear mark....and then to boot....she didn't give back the money!!! She kept it and spent it somewhere else.

That's not POLITE at all! That's stealing!

Her "bridge to nowhere" claim that she told Congress "thanks, but no thanks", is far more than a "stretch". It's an outright falsehood. The McCain campaign should be asked exactly what they are talking about, because she always made it clear that she was happy to have it as long as it was federally funded. She just didn't want her state to have to pay for it. If she made any such statement as "no thanks", they should be able to point to it.

Except for Olbermann/Maddow the television media is giving this travesty a total pass. The interview with Gibson will probably be a mockery. Remember how the media attacked Obama relentlessly until he was forced to give speeches defending his religious associations. Palin should spell out her extreme religious beliefs as George Bush should have. I believe it would turn the stomach of most of the American public and push the fear button against the Republicans. Nobody but nobody is doing an expose' on this.
