I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Sarah Palin's stump speeches have largely stuck to the same script (what the AP describes as "a greatest hits of her convention speech). However, one line that constantly shows up is that Palin said "thanks, but no thanks, to that 'bridge to nowhere.'" Palin's claim of opposing the 'bridge to nowhere' has proven to be a stretch, yet she keeps repeating the same line. Watch Palin use this exact line in seven different stump speeches since the end of the Republican Convention.

A proven lie. Outed by the WSJ. And yet, the moral majority of Republican sheep, blindly follow.

Why do Democratic women take whatever is thrown at them by their counterparts. Obama dissed Hillary; why, who knows. But yet we have to vote for him because he's a Democrat, rubbish. Im not saying to vote for Mccain, but isn't time for Liberal women to get thier say and repect. If Obama would've picked Hillary the race would be over, period.

Speckolog, It is time for women to stand up for women's rights and children's rights. I WILL vote for Obama for ALL THE WOMEN I KNOW, like my mother, my neighbor, my female friends and the REASON I WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA is because I have seen:

McCain's Voting Record Goes AGAINST Women & Children:

* McCain voted AGAINST Equal Pay for Women

* McCain voted AGAINST Violence Against Women Act

* McCain voted AGAINST Title X Womens Health Care Services

* McCain voted AGAINST Children's Health Insurance Program-SCHIP

* McCain voted AGAINST aid to Children of Domestic Violence

* McCain voted AGAINST Emergency Funding for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

* McCain voted AGAINST Funding Law Enforcement

* McCain wants to bring back the DRAFT

* McCain voted AGAINST GI Bill

* McCain voted AGAINST Funding VA for Vets

* McCain voted AGAINST Funding Military Equipment Shortages in Iraq

* Palin continues to LIE about the bridge. Palin SUPPORTED the bridge, TOOK THE MONEY for the bridge, KEPT THE MONEY for the bridge and SPENT THE MONEY for the bridge.

* Palin AND her husband AND her children BILLED the taxpayers of Alaska, $16,000.00 so the Palin's could have Family Time.

* Palin REFUSES to answer questions from reporters. In fact, Palin REFUSES to answer reporter's questions on her plane... SUSPICIOUS?????!!!!!!

MY VOTE FOR OBAMA WILL HELP WOMEN & CHILDREN....

Dissed her? And she didn't dis him back? (I actually think she did more of the "dissing") It was a campaign, not a garden party. That's what you do in a primary, and then at the end you kiss and make up...it's how it works.

Hillary was constantly racebaiting him. She said awful, untrue things, knowing that they could damage him later if he won.

She wants him to lose and has been doing diddly, nada about Palin.

Obama may have pre-empted Palin by choosing Hillary as VP, but then she would have tried to run all over him. And she and bill will have run all over him in the white house, ruining his presidency.

Palin is truly awful, but Hillary is worse, and Obama's decision still stands as a good one.

No way would a Clinton/Obama ticket truly work for America. It would be a never-ending power struggle between the two in the White House. Obama would never have a chance to lead with her and Bill looking over his shoulder 24/7. Truth is, if you believe in women's rights, then stick with Obama/Biden. This Palin character is only a desperate pandering tactic by the GOP and will in no way benefit women in this country. A JOKE!

"...one line that constantly shows up is that Palin said "thanks, but no thanks, to that 'bridge to nowhere.'" "

"thanks" = yes, show me the money
"no thanks" = I've changed my mind now that the project looks like a dud and we got some money for it anyway.

Palin is MISLEADING the voters about her incessant "Thanks, but no thanks" comment. She's saying this in the context of reforming Washington pork.

The TRUTH is that the Congressional appropriations bill DELETED the money for the "Bridge to Nowhere" before the money was sent to Alaska. In other words, FEDERAL funds allocated for the famous pork-smeared bridge were already DEAD IN THE WATER.

The McCain/Palin ads said she "ended" the bridge to nowhere. She ended the STATE funding of the bridge, but she had ADVOCATED the federal earmark for the bridge when it was being considered in Congress. There are videos to back this up!

It's time she tells the TRUTH, and stops this aura of purist/reformer of Washington politics!

WHEN IS THE PRESS GOING TO ASK SOME OF THE TOUGH QUESTIONS? IS McCAIN GOING TO BUILD AN IMMUNITY SHIELD AROUND HER FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS? IS THIS WHAT WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN A McCAIN ADMINISTRATION? I thought that's what offended so many of us in the Bush-Cheney administration: the privacy, the secrecy, the parsing, the lack of transparency, the scorn and eventual firing of those who challenge your policy.

WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe it says a lot about voters that they have heard Palin's "stories" so many times, but nothing about policy or issues. Only the same old hash about how she single-handedly cured cancer, eliminated famine, and brought ever-lasting peace to the world.

She killed the bridge, which is why there still is no bridge today. No matter how many times left wing moonbats call it a lie wont change the fact the Palin is telling the truth.

Thats the script the GOP has written for her she has to follow the script thats why she keeps repeating it. Wonder what she's going to do for the debate maybe McCain will have one of his surrogates hiding under the table or better yet she'll have the answers wriiten on her arm or have numerous scraps of paper stuffed in her bra should be very interesting.

SHE KEPT THE MONEY! That is the only fact that matters. She kept the money and they are STILL building a road to the bridge to nowhere even when the bridge isn't there.

SHE KEPT THE MONEY. Whether she said no or not matters little. SHE KEPT THE MONEY.

SHE KEPT THE MONEY. Her state get's 1.52 for ever dollar sent to Washington. That is WELFARE and waste. They are a debtor state. She has never returned one check sent to Alaska from the Federal Government. That is NOT reforming that is accepting welfare.

I want my money back Palin. I want it NOW.

Sarah Palin - Views from an Alaskan voter - Part 4

To those of you who, like me, supported Hilary and were upset that she did > not get the nomination, please don't think that Sarah Palin is a worthy substitute. If you supported Hillary, regardless of what you think the media and the Democratic party may have done to undermine her campaign, the person
to support now is Obama, not Sarah Palin.

To those of you who are independent or undecided, don't let the choice of Palin sway you in favor of
McCain. Choosing her shows how unqualified McCain is to be president.

To those of you who are conservative, I guess you have no choice for president. But please try to see how the poor choice of Palin tells us a great deal about McCain's judgment. While the political posturing inherent in the choice of Palin is obvious, the more serious issue is the fact that the VP is, literally, a heartbeat away from the presidency. Sarah Palin is totally and unequivocally unqualified to be vice president, let alone president.

I know this is a lengthy and emotional email, but the stakes are high. I thought it might help for all of you, regardless of political affiliation, to know something about Palin from someone who has to live with her administration in Alaska on a daily basis.

Well said Karen: It will be interesting in Palins first interview if she is asked about "I told congress thanks, but not thanks" BS. She is the most irritating female I have seen as a candidate., except fot that blonde lady that goes on the MSM and talks down about Obama and up on McCain and Palin - Whose your "messiah" now - Republicans are worst than the mafia......I'm really, really tired of their BS......

As Amy Goldstein and Michael D. Shear observed in the August 30 Washington Post, Palin “has angered two of Alaska’s leading Republicans — Sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don Young — by refusing to support their decades-long practice of securing federal money for the state, including Young’s effort to obtain $233 million for a structure dubbed the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ by critics because it would have connected a small town with an island populated with 50 people. In her short time in state office, she has repeatedly thwarted Stevens’s and Young’s interests and, at times, challenged their candidates — including their children.”

Obama and Biden had an excellent opportunity to do the right thing. Just seven weeks after Hurricane Katrina, Senator Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) proposed to transfer $125 million from the notorious Bridge’s budget and instead devote it to rebuilding the Interstate 10 Twin Spans Bridge between New Orleans and St. Tammany’s Parish. The storm chopped up the bridge. Coburn’s amendment failed 15-82. Obama and Biden were among the “nays.” They and 80 other senators preferred to protect the earmarking tradition than to assist Katrina’s tempest-tossed citizens.

Continued; ON SARAH PALIN - from an Alaskan voter;

Prior to her one year as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, a small redneck town outside Anchorage. The average maximum education level of parents of junior high school kids in Wasilla is 10th grade. Unfortunately, I have to go to Wasilla every week to get groceries and other supplies, so I have continual contact with the people who put Palin in office in the first
> place. I know what I'm talking about. These people don't have a concept of
> the world around them or of the serious issues facing the US. Furthermore,
> they don't care. So long as they can go out and hunt their moose every
> fall, kill wolves and bears and drive their snowmobiles and ATVs through
> every corner of the wilderness, they're happy. I wish I were exaggerating.
>
> Sarah Palin is currently involved in a political corruption scandal. She
> fired an individual in law enforcement here because she didn't like how he
> treated one of her relatives during a divorce. The man's performance and
> ability weren't considered; it was a totally personal firing and is
> currently under investigation. While the issue isn't close to the scandal of
> Ted Steven's corruption, it shows that Pali isn't 'squeaky clean' and causes
> me to think there may be more issues that could come to light. Clearly
> McCain doesn't care.
