New York Times:

Maybe he should have spoken up sooner.

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democrats' vice presidential nominee, said this afternoon that perhaps Senator Barack Obama should have chosen someone else as his running mate.

Responding to a question at a town hall-style meeting at Nashua Community College, Mr. Biden said, "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."

Sen. Obama claims that Sen. McCain has been part of the "old boy" network having spent 26 years in Washington. What does that say about Sen. Biden who has been part of the Washington machine for 36 years? Sen. Obama passed on the obvious "change" candidate in Hillary Clinton, but Sen. McCain chose a 2nd year female governor. Maybe Hillary would have been a better choice than any of the four of them.

Joe Biden gaifes and intelligence and that he is not a wealthy politician have always endeared him to me. But then I have been aware of his career for about 10 years now even though I don't and have never lived in Delaware. He is a unique human being who I find to be of a higher caliber than most of those run of the mill senators.

Step down, Joe… Step up, Hillary!

I had a vision during my early morning meditation today. In the same way that Clinton stepped away with grace and class to nominate Obama by acclamation, I saw Biden abdicate his VP slot to Clinton for the highest good of taking back the White House.

Why not? It would truly be a revolution, and it seems that that is what’s needed now to storm the Bastille and free the American people from the ravages of the last 8 years. “Enough!” would be the battle cry.

Seriously, why not? I’m just a laid-off worker from a sleepy town in Northern California. I don’t know the arcane and archaic rules of the DNC, but what’s to prevent Joe Biden from stepping down on his own? Debbie Wasserman Shultz can make a hasty nomination for Hillary as VP and Nancy Pelosi can just as quickly gavel it done.

Imagine this – Hillary Clinton debating Sarah Palin on foreign policy, national security, universal health care, the economy, jobs, stem cell research, choice, and so on. Sarah would Palin comparison. Indeed, the hottest governor would most certainly melt from the heat. Why play phony lipstick politics when we can have the real deal? This would stare sexism down, give women a real choice, and truly make this election herstoric.

“Change is coming,” wags McCain. This is one change he would not have seen coming.

Let's shake things up one more time. Step down, Joe… Step up, Hillary!

Joe is certanly qualified, but not a good political choice. Hill would have captured the election by a landslide. Maybe its not too late. Biden is a honorable man. He should find a way to step down. Soon

If he doesn't step down he should wear a blue star pin as Sarah does.

The gift that keeps giving to Republicans. I am more worried about him being a heartbeat away then Sarah.

Hillary a better choice as VP?...OK, assuming that JOE was POTUS.

Joe Biden is, without question, THE MOST QUALIFIED of the candidates out there .
But he must be disappointed that his selection as VP hasn't energized the Dems/Inde's the way Palin's selection has energized the repubics.

Maybe Joe thinks he would have been a better choice for secy of State, a position which could, perhaps, be suggested as a natural for Bill Clinton (assuming it's not against the constitution), with a deal among Senate Dems to name Hillary as Majority Leader.

But Joe, don't be self-deprecating...it will be perceived/convoluted as weakness.

PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS...YOU UNDERSTAND FIRST HAND THE INTRICACIES OF WORLD POLITICS...The many shades of grey...
The repubics know only black/white... That's why we can't let them win again.

Obama/BIDEN...the best for the US, AND THE WORLD!

lolll...I would have said the same thing had I been in your shoes, Joe.

Methinks the worries that Biden would say something rash were unwarranted.

This is a setup to allow Hillary to take over the VP position to go against Sarah Barracuda...a self-made woman who earned the VP spot on her own - not on her husbands coattails by the way...because Obama made a HUGE tactical error and yet another HUGE mistake by selecting Biden...Did you Dems not see something like this coming? Biden has a history of saying stupid things like this going back years! Plus he's been wrong on just about every issue from the initial Alaskan Pipeline to suggesting to divide up Iraq by religious affiliation...Can you make it easier for the Republicans?

Plus, Biden has ties to Rezko too:

Adam McKay is right, the Dems are going to lose it! Ha!
