Campaign AdWatch: McCain's Loopy Lupines

I have been looking forward to this latest McCain ad, "Fact Check," ever since word of its imminent arrival crossed my desk. All I can say is, IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. It is uniquely, blissfully, breathtakingly stupid and it pretty much gave me seizures of laughter. This is the video that gave Kim Jong Il his stroke. The ad makes a feint at providing some sort of substantive comment, but it doesn't matter, because all anyone will be saying after they see this ad is, "OMG OMG TEH WOLVEZ ARE COMING BY SEAPLANE! CALL UP THE AERIAL HUNTERS!"

How ludicrous of McCain and the republicans to think that Palin should get a free pass on questioning and critique. They think that she should be able to attack, daily, and not be called out on it. That is the height of ridiculousness and duplicity. McCain hired her to attack and due to his proclaimed vast experience in politics he should expect her to be attacked in return. After all, politics is a "contact sport" - his own words. They made a big deal when Obama refuting being attacked months ago, claiming he was unjustly playing the race-card to avoid scrutiny. Such hypocrites as they whine about the gender basing for any criticism and questioning. Their playing the gender-card! What is more depressing is the press and public are not showing the hypocrisy. Is the press serving as knowing propagandists for McCain? Is the presidency of Obama so threatening to so many, where you'd rather endure 4 more years of 'mess' rather than elect this man who IS addressing the issues - unlike McSame? In years to come, you all will be judged by history on this coverage. I don't think it'll be written as a proud moment in American history - no matter who wins in November!

Education broken? The gutter! Economy reeling? The gutter! Women facing real issues? The gutter! Migrant workers facing real issues like deportation and broken families? The Palin pick is working to perfection with the idiot set. There is really nothing else to call someone who is being pulled across the ocean of deceit and dirty destructive politics by John McCain because they have bought his lies, hook, line, and sinker. Such a person is either an idiot or they were already in McCain’s school of witless slimy minnows.

If John McCain is America then I think we must consider what that is saying to the world that is looking in on this election with great anticipation and concern. While world opinion does not matter in American elections, it matters quite a bit, post election.

Interestin­g...though I have to say, even GW's wolf ad at least made sense, just on a purely propagandist level. If he had said, John Kerry sent a bunch of wolves to congress to slash the budget for defense and then eat you, they would have been nearly identical.

Wow, tell me again now who is coming off as desperate. I think McCain and Lady McCain doth protest too much. They have a new attack ad out every single day. I am going to trust that Obama is right and the American public are sick of this kind of dirty politics and can see it for what it is. I just had a conversation with a conservative friend in Idaho, who expressed she just wanted to know about the issues and was sick of all the attack ads.

I don't think it's all that funny and neither is it COMPLETELY ineffective. Red State America does have an instinctive dislike for lawyers. It's just the beginning of the "how DARE those bad men pick on witty bitty Sarah!" This defense will be necessary as all the dirt on her emerges.
