Elisabeth Michelle

"The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the show's token conservative and an ardent supporter of John McCain, appeared at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul last week and spoke at an event honoring Cindy McCain. Given that "The View" is a necessary destination for the candidates and their wives this year, Hasselbeck felt qualified to explain the difference between Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama, though she avoided singling Obama out by name:

"Cindy came into our hair and makeup room, fresh as can be, and unlike another wife of a political candidate who shall remain nameless, she didn't come with a list of topics that we weren't allowed to touch. Nope, that's because she has nothing to hide."

I think the issue is not whether eh is neocon vs radical leftist but whether her disrespect and vile attitutde is acceptable.

but just to correct your perspective, i don't see any radical leftists mentioned here. why is it that anyone left of the neocons gets labeled a radical. when dukakis ran the word 'liberal' became a dirty word by the radical republicans of the time. my issue is the democrats have never stood up and fought back on that. i do believe that is part of the problem with the tone and presentations that they do/or don't do. years ago when they hit geraldine ferraro, the 1st woman vp candidate, it took over 3 days for the democrats to issue a very whimpy reply. the battle was lost along with the war. kerry and gore reacted the same way--whimpy.

why do the republicans not fear the public when they lambast truth? because they know the public responds to the feeling of strength. the article today calling for obama to express righteous indignation with strength is very right on target!!!! that's what needs to happen now that the repugs have clearly laid out their strategy--no issues at all--only raw nastiness.

this country reflects its core values which are not humanistic, but might makes right. that is what the neocons have promoted.

Elizabeth the Shrew is an ill tempered hateful scolding woman. She and her mouth should be permanently tied to a dunking stool as in the days of the Salem Witch Trials. This woman cannot logically discuss an issue without flying into a rage. She uses her seat on the View as a throne from which to condemn others whose ideas are contrary to hers. If you disagree with her you're the enemy. Unless she changes her ways; she will never be happy regardless of how much money she earns. Her unwarranted criticism of Michelle Obama is rooted in her bigotry toward black women. She took one look at Michelle and immediately became jealous. She resents Michelle's education , station in life, and her good fortune of having a brilliant and loving husband like Barack. Elizabeth looks down on people because she feels others are unworthy of hapiness. I also feel her arguments with Rosie O'Donnell were based on her unspoken bias towards gay people. No doubt Rosie could feel her bad vibes.

I listened to the Hasselbeck video and it hit me in the face: Elizabeth has the same delivery style as Sarah Palin. Maybe one day she'll run as Palin's VP? Kurt Vonnegut, are you listening?

The only thing Elizabeth had on her resume was her less than spectacular ability to live in the jungle.

Since she has been on the View she has made her mark on the world as one of two people (you know who the other one is) who think if they talk longer and louder it will make whatever they are saying the law of the land.

If Cindy didn't have a list it's only because she knows that she is on safe ground with the View. Elisabeth will be her personal attack dog and the rest of the ladies don't have the nerve to ask her about drug theft, drug abuse, community service sentencing or why she accepts her husband calling her a trollop and a c--t!

Quiet as kept none the tv news media has the nerve to ask Cindy for the truth. Makes me want to barf.

EH is speak no evil hear no evil see no evil when it comes to the republican party. I can't believe none of the ladies on the view has said anything about that comment at Cindy McCain's luncheon. And we all know how Barbara feels about what goes on backstage . Hope she gave EH a good earpull.

Sorry, I'm terribly worn out after the Palin baloney for too many days, and then I misspell and don't catch it until I see my coments in print. 'Good Night."

I've emailed "The View" a few times asking them to put Elisabeth off. I'll do it again, in fact i'll ask them if Elisabeth represented "The View" when was trashing Michellshe e at the Republican Convention. If most who blog here would ask The View to take Elisabeth "Off," I bet it could be done, because it takes numbers.

Won't ever happen. Or they'll take her off and put Ann Coulter on instead -- and I bet you'd love that, though frankly so would Barbra Walters. She owns the show and all this controversy and ratings spikes translate into $$$ for her. Take off EH and make it all Liberal women rantingand she gets NO controversy or balance and makes NO $$$...

Why take her out? So nobody can hear the other side of the story which is the truth? The truth is Michelle O. hated her country most of her life and she just recently said coming from her mouth with lipstick on it, "For the first time in life I am proud of my country". The truth is she is a radical activist like her husband and like their associates and close friends Fr. Wright and William Ayers. How come she wasn't asked those questions when she came to the View? The truth hurts but we are talking sending a radical and activist family to the white house.

Rannie you are just like Elisabeth H, developing opinion based on other people's opinions. Rev Wright spoke from his experiences and spoke about his opinions, the Obama's are far too intelligent to let another person's opinion and experience become the foundation of their thoughts. There are many people who listen to maybe a preacher, teacher, or the president and take all that is said for the truth, and there are intelligent people who can think for themselves. It is very obvious that the Obama's do not share identical philosophies with Rev Wright (he was a minister at a church not their fearless leader). Why is it radical to be proud of so many people becoming politically active? With comments like yours I can almost believe that you believe "Keebler Cookies are really made by Elfs in a Tree". Who is more radical than George W. Bush, going to war not because we were attacked by Iraq, but because he could. 'Cause he is the "Decider"!

Rannie, you must have not seen this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiQnxWOBlEc. Now what do you think about the person who wants to be the President of the US.

Truth = Cindy Lou was a drug addict and stole from her charity destroying the lives of several people and doctors who worked with her in that charity.
Truth = Cindy McCain was having an affair with John before he was divorced.
Truth = John McCain has sold his soul to try and win an election.

Don't start talking about the Obama's former pastor or you will have to deal with Palin's church life or McCain's sudden switch from moderate to fundamentalist and I know you don't want to go there.

The fact that you listen to people like Elizabeth Hasselbeck explains a lot. She has about as much experience as Sarah Palin. You will believe anything even when there are no facts to back it up and you never do anything to really research a story.

The problem is you don't deal with the issues. You deal with all the lies that get spread through emails the conservative base sends out. I think I am most ashamed of John McCain because he is using the same tactics that Bush used against him. Mean, dirty, low, lies and attacks that have defined many in the Republican Party.

Oh, and I caught the lipstick comment. I think yours is showing bright red.

Rannie. You're a sad example of an American. I'm a black American. I, and the majority of blacks, Indians, Asians, and Latinos know what Michele meant. I've been around longer than Michelle. I served in the Vietnam War and my father served in WWll. My youngest brother died because he was denied treatment in a white hospital. My father and mother were in their 60's before they could walk in the front door of a restaurant, They had to wait a the back door to get a hamburger or a donut. This is a man who fought for his country, lost an arm and had to wait at the back door. No you don't know what Michelle meant, nor do you give a damn. She, like me, has seen the underbelly of American society. Black Americans who were enslaved, hanged, beaten, and murdered ( while I fought and killed helpless women and kids while serving my country) then read letters from my family and friends telling me of the beating and murders of blacks that was taking place in my country, during the civil rights movement, against my people. you have the unmitigated gall to to question our patriotism or that we express ourselves based on our experiences. You're more like a Nazi than American. Walk a mile in our shoes before you abuse, criticize and accuse. do what Michelle has done to make this a better country.

Hey it could be done. I had e-mailed several times( and also encouraged all my friends and relatives) to MSNBC to pull out Chris Mathews and Keith Olbermann for belittling Sen. Clinton, and after six long months MSNBC has decided that neither of them are going to cover the election. Although I was disappointed that they were not booted off the air ,I was satisfied with their action. What a sweet victory!!

This teen queen from the survivor show will probably like Cindy be a older bleached blonde on prescription drugs wondering why her husband never comes home at night. You cannot convince meTHAT personality doesn't reign supreme at home. too. Feel sorry for the football player.

I have watched the view since it started and I am Elisabeths age.I have to say that I find Hasselbeck to be the most small minded person who has ever sat at that table.I have watched her disrespect some of the most accomplished people, including Mrs.Clinton. They need to rein her in and muzzle her because she will cost them viewers.Plus, she is just a sheep that votes for ANYONE who is Republican-EVEN SATAN.I mean she herself has been defending George Bush for all these years.I really wish they could have kept Lisa Ling who is a real down to earth person.Thank God for Joy and Whoopi cause they have the guts to stand up and ask the right questions and keep their positions, but remain open to debate. Not Elisabeth nope- NO ONE SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT SARAH PALIN.....EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE-especially Elisabeth- TOOK TURNS CRUCIFYING OBAMA. VERY HYPOCRITICAL.

You have no agruments....all she said was that Michelle had topics off limits....why? What is she afraid of. And all you can come back with is "turning tricks". Wow you guys r scared. You can tell because nothing in this post refered to the contect of the clip, just insults. Thats the difference between most democraps and republicans. This is sooooo sweet!

I encourage everyone to email ABC re Hasselbeck. She broke program conduct code by dissing a former guest. If Whoopie had said anything about Plastic Face, er, Cindy McCain, she'd be out on her butt. I emailed them requesting her removal from the program.

Done. Do you think they care that I don't watch their program?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:45 PM on 09/12/2008

That's NOT against program conduct code -- in fact, Barbra Walters (who owns the show) has said that the women are free to pursue their opinions off air. You want to go after EH for her comments? Fine, then remove Joy Bahar as well for the loud mouth interviews she will do where she'll openly bash McCain or O'Reilly after they've just appeared on the show. So be careful what you wish for -- that door swings both ways.

Survivor huh? I've never watched that and I'm not sorry. Was Ann Colter on it too? Kind of seems like the place for spawning organisms of this sort... I have no idea how old this, this person is but the days of Beaver Cleaver and Mayberry don't evoke fond memories for people of color. I do understand her wanting things to be pleasant and untroubling for her and her offspring but, if her desires for a happy life require that another people be abused and disrespected she should do herself and the world the very much required honest appraisal of whom she is and be willing to state the fact that in order for her to feel important somebody else's child must be unimportant. Face what it is she feels she has to hide and don't blindly support the status quo. That breeds fear of someone being able to do to you what you have done to them. It's how you live your life when nobody's looking that tells you who you are...
