I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Elisabeth Michelle

"The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the show's token conservative and an ardent supporter of John McCain, appeared at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul last week and spoke at an event honoring Cindy McCain. Given that "The View" is a necessary destination for the candidates and their wives this year, Hasselbeck felt qualified to explain the difference between Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama, though she avoided singling Obama out by name:

"Cindy came into our hair and makeup room, fresh as can be, and unlike another wife of a political candidate who shall remain nameless, she didn't come with a list of topics that we weren't allowed to touch. Nope, that's because she has nothing to hide."

Actually - that makes two of us. Never seen the show - don't plan to. I've heard too much about Hasselbeck when she goes off track to spout talking-points. Vomit - not interested.

Nothing else about the show is so compelling that I would put up with Hasselbeck's crap.

Hasselbeck is the reason nobody I know will watch that show. She's unqualified & is incredibly ignorant. Rosie O'Donnell was worth watching, just for her political commentaries, but the show now is crap.

Hasselbeck can't hold a candle to Mrs. Michelle Obama.

That's why she didn't say her name! What a pathetic, mindless coward she is.

Hasselback: A fake blond that makes blonds look intelligent!

Who cares what Elisabeth Hasselbeck has to say? We all know her political views are slanted. Does she ever have an original thought?

You liberal nutcases make me sick! You are always preaching that people have the right for free speech. She is just using her right. I think she IS hiding something. There is no reason for her to give a list of things not to talk about. Besides. We should be more concerned about hearing the REAL candidates, not their wives, talk about policy and politics. Rather then listen to ANY of their wives, republican, democrat or independent. This is why our country is going to hell. let's get off the whole shock campaign ads, and the wive bull, and the candidates bull and really see what we are working with.

Are you crazy or just ignorant? Who has, for 8 years, filtered audiences in order to avoid hearing voices of dissent? Which party has a VP candidate that won't even do interviews? Your guys set the precedence... and now a Dem wants to limit the conversation and she "has something to hide"?

Hasselbeck is a hack and anyone who defends her defends just plain old uneducated ignorance.

Yes, YOU should be hearing more about the real issues, and surprise! You can find just that in an Obama speech. Why don't you try one on for size? While Obama is out there talking economics and discussing exit strategies with panels of experts, your candidates are lying and clawing their way up the bodies of people like you to get to the top. Unless you are a very rich white guy, if you support the Republicans you are voting against your own best interests and actually arguably the best interests of the entire globe.

I agree with you in that we need to take this person's comment into "view" for consideration, on all aspects. It shouldn't just be shot down because it's negative towards liberals. I'm a liberal, and am willing to listen. And like you, I'm offended at some of these remarks which come off as closed-minded and don't make us sound good. I have some respect for Cindy McCain, and also for Michelle Obama, but really not so much for what little I know of Elizabeth. This doesn't mean I throw her words out though, nor do I have reason to consider her a liar. I do question the overall situation, as I do on both sides, and would like to hear comments from others on the show in regards to this. I also think Elizabeth came off as nasty. She could've said the same thing without being so, and she'd get more respect from me.

Cindy McCain has plenty still to hide. How many stars, politicos and others will by pass on the View due to Elisabeth's stupidity. She is not the first person to have a list, but she is the only one Elisabeth the Intelligent has called out.

Why is this women even on the show? Who is she? An incubator for a B rated quarterback at best.
This the type of women that drives a big SUV in tight neighborhoods running up on curbs on her way to her tennis lesson everyday.

Well, evidently Hasselbeck is aiming for her own right wing show like Hannity, Beck etc. through her nasty ill-tempered no class demeanor. She would be prefect. She better hope the Obama's sren't in the White House. We will see what happens on the View this morning with John and Cindy.

Excuse Me - Are you trying to say that Whoopi and Joy Behar are NOT mean spirited, nasty and no class whatsoever?

You must watch an entirely different show than the rest of us.

Atleast they {Whoopi, Joy, and Barbara } use their own minds to develope opinions. Elsabeth sticks with the talking points sent to her daily by Fox. This woman has never had an original thought . Oh and Whoopi and Joy have more class in a hot second than Elisabeth will have in alife time.

Guess I've been too busy reading The Huffington Post and the Times to pay attention to the train wreck on TV- Hasselbeck. I'm surprised Barbara and Whoopi let this screaching bobble head get away with her shrilly nonsense speak. She's Kelly Rippa meets Anita Bryant. Oh Puhleaze!

I wish more A list celebrities would actually just immediately cancel their scheduled interviews if she is going to be on the couch. Barry Mannilow did it but if many more followed suit in light of her recent behavior, then I think they would actually feel the impact.

The producers of The View should fire this vapid, pretentious, empty headed young woman for discussing their guests in a public forum. It is not her place to do so and in fact, her very presence on the show is a detriment regardless of her misguided "views" on just about everything...politics included of course. But of course, that would be politically incorrect. She is self-righteous and critical of real life people and situations. While I don't view The View daily (don't have the stomach for it) the times that I have watched I've wondered how anyone has been willing to sit and listen to her canned speeches, her "heartfelt" moments and in general, be subjected to her presence. Fortunately for us, she is interrupted constantly and hopefully not taken seriously at all. As a Democrat, I am always up for lively debate and the cliche of "some of my best friends are Republicans" applies to me as it does to most people. But please, give us someone with substance for Pete's sake! Shame on you Barbara Walters!
