Olbermann

Keith Olbermann will deliver a special comment about Republicans exploiting September 11th during Wednesday night's "Countdown," he announced Tuesday night.

"Tomorrow night here, my special comment on how people like John McCain and Rudy Giuliani have changed our solemn commemoration of 9/11 into the most cynical of political exploitations," he said.

Last week, Olbermann lashed out against the RNC's September 11th tribute video, calling it "graphic" and "probably not appropriate to be shown." It was this impassioned commentary, he said, that led Olbermann and the network to revisit whether he was an appropriate anchor for election night coverage.

During the segment of Olbermann's interview with Barack Obama that aired Tuesday, the MSNBC host asked the presidential candidate about the Republicans' politicization of the September 11th attacks. Obama told Olbermann that the RNC's 9/11 tribute video is "not something we would have done."

As most dems know the polls belie only the viesw of people called on land lines and 90% of dems under age 40 do not have land lines !! So polls are probably off by more than 10%-20% if not More ~

Keith speaks of the use of graphic coverage of 9/11 for political gain. What do we call MSNBC's full rerun, showing this morning ,of the NBC "Today Show" Sept 11, 2001. I wonder if he has so vehemently objected to his employer about this.

I can't believe all the positive comments about Olberman on this site. This guy is a joke and has no credibility whatsoever. It is just like a bunch of libs to jump on the bandwagon with a guy who made a living as a sportcaster and make him their hero. I guess its no different that standing behind a presidential candidate that has absolutely no experience either... unbelievable.

I'm a liberal and I can tell you... he's no hero. He's a disgrace and an embarrassment to the left.

He's adopted the slash and burn tactics of the Right which he started using on his own kind. He turned on Hillary last winter because he decided that Obama was a better fit for the job. He practiced character assassination nightly on Keith's Playhouse also known as Countdown. He's a doofus and a mean spirited fool. He's a modern day Walter Winchell.

So only repubs are allowed to have slash and burn ? hmmm But actually we need more like him ! Keep up the GREAT work Keith, you are a HERO to the PEOPLE -

Hey Hammer, dont worry most normal Americans realize KO is a liberal coward. The more MSNBC hangs to the left the better we are. Look at the current pols.....The liberal democrats will always miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Keith Olbermann said on his wed show that Obama is going to release his 527 on McCain. Do'es that mean we can finally start commenting on songbird's p.o.w. experaence and how he collaborated with the viet-cong. I hope so, I sure can tell you a thing or two about that s.o.b.

Obama is running an intelligent campaign -- the world is watching the USA and I fear the worse if McCain and Palin have to deal with those people over there. Keith Olbermann you are wonderful all of the time -- will you marry me?

And I understand that Keith is a wonderful lover. I have seen kudos written about him on virtually every men's room wall in NYC! You'd be sooooo lucky if he says...."YES, I WILL....."

Did he call Sarah Palin a con artist? I thougt he did and so did my husband. Did anyone else hear that?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:22 PM on 09/10/2008

Exactly - She IS a con artist - check the dictionary definition and her pic is next to it ! I have several examples - 1)She has told voters she was for the "Bridge to nowhere" to get elected ! yet after elected she did not support it ! 2) she told people she sold her plane on ebay yet she did NOT - it was sold at a $600,00 LOSS 3) she took the money (an EARMARK remember also) that was for "bridge to nowhere" And used it for other pet projects ALL OF WHICH WERE NEVER APPROVED FOR THIS MONEY (sounds like misappropriation of funds, to me) YEPPER This blares con artist to any intelligent aware person ! The truth hurts the liar and those who believe the lies - she is dishonest - there is NO WAY she should be VP, she does not deserve it ~

Actually I am glad he is not doing that anymore and it will serve his career better (as well as MSNBCs ratings) if he doesn't. He is not in his element during the convention coverage and I won't argue with his and Matthew's weak performances during the convention. Now he can keep his focus on Countdown where he can be himself and continue to call out McCain as he did with Bush.

Thank you Keith. I know you take hard hits, but you do speak to a portion of the public that truly do agree with you on your point. It will be ripped, unfortunately, but you take the hits and you do it with aplomb and eloquence.
I had the same feeling. As a congressman, wouldn't JMc have put these plans into action. Country first! Why does he have to be president to capture the world's most wanted criminals? That's country first?
ENOUGH
