Ald. Bob Fioretti introduced an ordinance that would ban metal bats from Chicago youth baseball.

"This is an issue of actual injury. This is an issue where children are harmed...This is an issue of protecting our young people and bringing them back to our old pastime of baseball and wooden bats," Fioretti said.

The major league is having trouble getting enough Ash wood for bats, why help cut down more trees?
Metal bats are no more dangerous than wood ones. If you are hit by either you will be hurt.
This is more goofy,political rubbish. People should know not to hit people with bats or anything else.
