Obama Appears On Letterman, Discusses Palin "Phenomenon," Lipstick Remark (VIDEO)

Barack Obama appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman" Wednesday night for an extended chat with the CBS host. In the opening part of the interview Obama discussed the phenomenon of Sarah Palin and further clarified what he meant by his "lipstick" comment.

I loved this interview. It showed he can sit down and talk with you about anything and everything. I clapped and cheered after this interview because he showed why he should be in the #1 postion to lead America. You don't see McSame having conversations like this and explaining how things are and how they can be if we ALL work together and get it done. It was just amazing and I was very pleased. He showed his serious side, commical side, humble side, father side, husband side, son side, grandson side, brother side all in one conversation. How can people say he is not like us? He is very down to earth and in touch with the American people. I have never watched a politcal campaign before in my life to this degree anyway. I listen to him because I always learn something new about him and his views and just watching him handle all the racist comments and undertones, the smear, the false accusations, and he still holds his head up high and keeps moving forward.

First I am white and a female. I agree with your post 100%. Racism is still present here. I just want you to know that I'm not like this. Not every white rural American is like this. They want change. I don't care if Obama was purple - I'd vote for him. He's intelligent, educated and experienced - hard for some Americans to grasp. They've voted for dumb, uneducated and daddy's experience twice. Barack has my vote not because of his skin color but because of the change he will bring to me and my family. Can you imagine what would happen if this was the Democratic nominee that was being shielded by the MSM and the Rethuglican party? Sen Obama also has the right temperment to be CIC. U can trust him to do the research, talk to his think tank and listen to them and to take advise even if it is in not in accord with him. Then he will make a decision based on good judgment.

Sen McCain by accounts, appears to be volitile, impulsive, quick to anger, unpredictable. Not quality traits I want in the next CIC. I am not sure he listens or surrounds himself with diverse thinkers.

Obama was wonderful on Letterman last night - relaxed, charming and filled with wit and humor. I noticed how gray his hair has become. Palin and others have whined as they ran for office but never Obama - yet he has taken a lot of pure hell running as the first African American. I simply love that man. He and Letterman seem to click.
