Obama Appears On Letterman, Discusses Palin "Phenomenon," Lipstick Remark (VIDEO)

Barack Obama appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman" Wednesday night for an extended chat with the CBS host. In the opening part of the interview Obama discussed the phenomenon of Sarah Palin and further clarified what he meant by his "lipstick" comment.

He's always good when he's in friendly territory with people that grasp onto every idiotic word that comes out of his mouth, like Letterman. When O is in a position where he has to think on his feet and give substantive answers to tough questions all he does is studder and stammer. Give him a teleprompter and he's magnificent, but when he has to adlib he looks like an idiot! Letterman probably washed his feet before and after that worship fest. I doubt this will be posted after all saying anything bad about the Messiah, the holy one is forbidden.

LOVED seeing Barack Obama so relaxed. We need to see more of that. They need to try to keep us from seeing more of that.
This entire absurdity is a page right out of Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72:

They didn't actually DO it. Johnson was a tough poltiician but he wasn't low down.

Generally talk show guests ramble on about nothing and lose the audience, but Barack was so fantastic Dave actually let it go on far longer than he'd intended. It's not just Barack's charm, it's his intellect.

How anyone might not want this candidate to represent our country truly mystifies me?
Not only do I like his stance on most all the issues, if we are accused of electing people judged on whether we'd like to have a beer with them, there is nobody else I would prefer to buy a beer for and sit and talk with.
