Rosie O'Donnell: Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sarah Palin "Identical Cousins, Women Who Hunt In High Heels"

Rosie O'Donnell called her former co-host and nemesis Elisabeth Hasselbeck an "identical cousin" of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin on her blog over the weekend.

Blogging at Rosie.com, the outspoken former co-host of "The View" wrote:

Rosie would often spar with her conservative co-host (who recently disparaged Michelle Obama during an event at the Republican National Convention) while on "The View." Since leaving, the two have reportedly made up, with Rosie sending Elisabeth a gift upon the birth of her son Taylor in January and explaining away their differences as a function of their generational gap.

I loved Rosie. I love Whoopie, but I am not going to watch anything with Elizabeth Hasselback on it. Funny how people's names fit sometimes. Palin is like paling in comparison. Elizabeth, a hassel of a monkey to get off America's back.

I don't watch either, except when Michelle came on the view. But does Hassellback really believe that it was Michelle and Cindy who laid out the so-called restrictions and not the campaign folks? So I guess, accordingly, the view discussed Cindy's half-sisters and the $10,000 ??? that was left them in daddy's will, while Cindy goes around helping the poor? Or how about her "need" for abusing prescription drugs? and using her charity and her employees' jobs at risk?

Palin and Hasselbeck are no doubt similar in many ways. Here's a key one: they are both a little ditzy and they are used by the Repub media machine as pretty faces to distract attention from actual issues, instead to focus attention on fluffery. Thus they are part of the standard Repub campaign playbook. Neither of them has the background, education or understanding to be taken seriously.
