I Like ItI Don’t Like It

SAN FRANCISCO - Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs joked about the speculation on his health Tuesday, kicking off an Apple event by flashing a message on a screen that "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

Jobs played off the famous Mark Twain quote in referring to obituary preparedness on him that was accidentally posted by Bloomberg News and then retracted. News outlets regularly prepare obituary material on famous people.

Questions about Jobs' health swirled after he appeared gaunt at a recent Apple event. Apple has since said Jobs, 53, a survivor of pancreatic cancer, suffered from a bug and is better.

He appeared thin but energetic Tuesday as he detailed changes in Apple's lineup of iPods and the iTunes music service.

That would be a shame Jobs is one of the great innovators of this century or any century. He and Woz basically invented the modern computer age.

Sure he's been a showman salesman, but that is confidence. I briefly worked for Apple in 1982 and it was a great time to be working for the company. Here's something I just remembered from then. A 10 Megabyte Hard Drive was FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS> From Corvus. TEN MEGABYTE.

Well anyway. Jobs is one of the greats of our time and I hope he is better and continues to put great products out.

I wish him great health. I have been using Macs since ethe early 90's and know his vision has made both Macs and PC's what they are today.

It took two years for him to turn his head?? He is bad off! No, seriously, Steve needs to address the problem of not supporting his workstations. I know technology moves at a rapid pace, but to have a five thousand dollar workstation with just a handfull of choices for a video card (gpu) is stupid. And no backward compatibility on certain aspects sucks too. The still wipe the floor with a windows based machine though. I know, this is one of those "things that white people like" but the hell with you- I'm Chickasaw.

From the way he looks, your work station problems are probably the last thing he has on his mind. He looks like he's caught the cancer bug.
God bless his creative soul.
