Palin Falsely Claimed She "Would Never Presume To Know God's Will"

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ABC's Charles Gibson on Thursday that "I would never presume to know God's will or speak God's words."

The response came in answer to question about comments Palin made to a group of graduating Wasilla high school students earlier this year, first reported by the Huffington Post. At that ceremony, Palin said: "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

In her interview with Gibson, Palin sought to compare her words to those of Abraham Lincoln, who famously urged citizens to pray that the country was on God's side, not the other way around.

And it's easy enough to see how Palin's comments on the Iraq war could be viewed through a Lincolnesque lens. But it's simply not true that Palin has "never" presumed to know God's will. In the same speech to graduating high school seniors, Palin explicitly referenced an in-process natural gas pipeline as part of God's will -- in terms much less open to Lincoln-esque interpretation.

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gasline built. So pray for that," Palin said at the time.

Great another Obama supporter with empty headed response for change. Hey let us ponder Obama’s word "change", it sounds good until you give it more than 2 seconds of thought. If Obama actually gets in what will be left in my pocket will be "change" from all the taxes he will institute. Someone burns my house down that is "change". But the sad thing is that it is very true "change", why most people have a good view of "change" is by inserting their personal view. However that is not what the candidate said he just stated he wanted "change"..­.....I want to hear it from the candidate without all the normal platitudes. How is the Iraq War being paid for? – Estimated cost between $1 TRILLION and $3 TRILLION, on a $14 TRILLION economy

How is the Freddie and Fannie bailout being paid for? – Cost: $200 BILLION

How is the Bear Stearns bailout being paid for? – Cost: $30 BILLION not to mention the soon to be Lehman Brothers bailout

How is our private army (a.k.a Blackwater, I know you forgot all about them) being paid for? – Cost: Some percentage of the Iraq War Cost

How is it that the party of fiscal responsibility took a national debt that was $5.7 TRILLION in 2000 and increased it to the current level of $9.7 TRILLION?

Since Obama's theme of “change” is empty and Mr. McCain is real agent of change, what does he want to change, how is he going to change it, and how will it be paid for?

The Center for Tax Policy recently stated that taxes for 4 out of 5 Americans will go DOWN. I have no idea why you can't wrap your tiny little coconut around this. The Middle Class, upon which the greatest economy in the world was built, has been decimated under repub policies.
