'Standing Room' Cars Begin On Brown Line Today

Starting with this afternoon's rush hour, the CTA will begin testing reduced-seating rail cars on the Brown Line -- cars that are designed to squeeze more people onto trains.

"Ridership on the CTA rail system has increased 8.3 percent compared to last year," said CTA President Ron Huberman. "While we welcome more riders, it does present challenges during peak periods."
