McCain-Palin Crowd-Size Estimates Not Backed by Officials

Bloomberg:

Senator John McCain has drawn some of the biggest crowds of his presidential campaign since adding Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to his ticket on Aug. 29. Now officials say they can't substantiate the figures McCain's aides are claiming.

McCain aide Kimmie Lipscomb told reporters on Sept. 10 that an outdoor rally in Fairfax City, Virginia, drew 23,000 people, attributing the crowd estimate to a fire marshal.

Fairfax City Fire Marshal Andrew Wilson said his office did not supply that number to the campaign and could not confirm it. Wilson, in an interview, said the fire department does not monitor attendance at outdoor events.

Car pool in NOVA? Never! Which even more indicates that there were less than 8,000 people. I was, in fact hugely suprised when I read in the Wa. Post that 23,000 attended the rally. In the first place, North Virginians hate McCain and palin. Second, the rally was to be held in a high school gym, which at best can hold 1500 or so, but that was canceled and the event moved outdoors to a small park I have never heard of. The whole thing seemed very very STRANGE indeed....

I am in New York City and Mcain is running ads here. It seems he has ads in all 50 states. Where is all this money coming from? I thought Mcain is limited to the 86 million from us poor taxpayers. He cant raise anymore money or its illegal. Yet on his website there is a contribution button for a "Compliance Fund" What the hell is that for. Is that Legal? Yeah Right..... I swear there is fraud going on in the Mcain camp. Theres alot at stake with trillions not billions of dollars at stake for multinational corporations. There is no way they are not funneling money to Mcsame illegally. However, i think this year the power of the people will prevail.
