McCain-Palin Crowd-Size Estimates Not Backed by Officials

Bloomberg:

Senator John McCain has drawn some of the biggest crowds of his presidential campaign since adding Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to his ticket on Aug. 29. Now officials say they can't substantiate the figures McCain's aides are claiming.

McCain aide Kimmie Lipscomb told reporters on Sept. 10 that an outdoor rally in Fairfax City, Virginia, drew 23,000 people, attributing the crowd estimate to a fire marshal.

Fairfax City Fire Marshal Andrew Wilson said his office did not supply that number to the campaign and could not confirm it. Wilson, in an interview, said the fire department does not monitor attendance at outdoor events.

I think that we were manipulated by the media during the primaries. Remember how they said that Hillary and her supporters would make trouble for the convention. And then look how great Hillary was. I'm thinking that we're being manipulated into believing that McCain/Palin are even viable candidates. Maybe the polls are being played with to string us along. McCain and Palin are so corrupt and so dumb the only people that they could possibly energize is the far right and the stupid. There are a lot of us out there working for Obama. He has to win.

Wow. I looked at a map of Iraq once. I've been to Cancun, Mexico, and to France and Denmark via St. Martin. I've been to Hawaii, and that's sort of close to Japan. Sounds like I have as much foreign policy experience as Palin! Wow, who knew? Maybe I'll run for president in four years!
