I Like ItI Don’t Like It

A group of doctors have signed this petition urging John McCain to release his medical records:

John McCain has not yet released his medical records to the public. McCain is 72 years old, and has been diagnosed with invasive melanoma. In May of this year, a small group of selected reporters were allowed to review 1,173 pages of McCain's medical records that covered only the last eight years, and were allowed only three hours to do so. John McCain's health is an issue of profound importance. We call on John McCain to issue a full, public disclosure of all of his medical records, available for the media and members of the general public to review.

Watch a video of doctors explaining why McCain should listen:

Melanoma is a very deadly kind of cancer. It is not correct to say that it goes into "remission." That said, the potential for a return of cancer is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to medical issues that are of concern with the Senior Senator from Arizona. I wonder how many head injuries McCain suffered during his years as a pilot with multiple crashes and frequent beatings as a prisoner of war? I wonder if he hasn't suffered repeat closed head trauma which is particularly damaging to the brain? His current mountain of campaign gaffes, non sequitors and exaggerations could be the result of either an emerging impairment from cumulative head injuries, nascent senility, or a general slowdown of his mental faculties and physical endurance due to metastatic cancer.

Speaking of health, shouldn't we also be demanding that BO go through comprehensive testing of his lungs? He is a smoker you know and smoking is directly linked to cancer as well. Also, shouldn't we likewise demand the records of Joe Biden? He is 65 and has had mulitple brain aneurysms.

McCain you are so foolish. US economic fundamentals are not 'strong'. Where have you been for the past year? Oh-- In one of your seven-ten houses; depending on what the definition of house is. You sir are a moronic, incompetent republican puppet, a dwindling shadow of your former self.

Well, better the Doctors of America than No-One! Determination of ANY candidate's capacity to serve should be a certainty in our Constitution! I think there is language that suggests that, but it is clearly not being applied. Cheney should've been prohibited...and Bush (for dependency issues). Yes, there is law against age discrimination, but "reasonable sound health" should be an enforceable requirement of even Running for any Federal Office!

And, as soon as "Authoritarianism" is included as a bona fide Personality Disorder by the DSM-IV we should be able to 'shake-out' quite a few of the Conscienceless Conservatives who have 'served' since Tricky Dicky! Read John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscience", please.

Even without knowing a thing about McCain's medical history, insurance actuarial tables say that McCain has a one-in-three chance of dying in the next eight years. But if you factor in the chance that he might become incapacitated, his cancer history and the health implications of his POW time, I think the chances of Palin succeeding McCain over the next eight years are well over 50%.

Actually, the actuarial tables say that he is likely to die during the next FOUR years--not 8.

Thankfully this is returning, hopefully to mainstream media. This article did not mention something else VERY interesting:

In 2000 reporters, doctors, everyone was given full, normal access to his medical records. 8 years later and it's this highly secretive, no doctors allowed, no cell phones, no paper, pens, no computers, only looking at almost 2,000 pages by untrained people in THREE HOURS. And those people were highly selected by the McCain team.

I ask you why the change of secrecy if he has already proven once that he's ready to be an open book, 8 years ago? It is So scary that Palin is more of a heartbeat away than any VP in history!

People keep saying Obama should chose Hillary - NO, McCain should chose Lieberman, his first choice, and someone who is actually qualified to run this country. Biden has a lot more experience than Hillary and Obama has a lot more senate experience than Hillary.

Hellooo?

Thank you Dr. Obvious - is it just me or does this look like an elaborate setup for the Repubs to put the first woman in the White House by Proxy.

It's about time. This is not a privacy issue, it's a matter of being able to make an informed choice.

It is worrying that he's had bouts with cancer and if elected his term of office may be short in which case we'll have a very incompetent vp in charge.

That's OK - the GOP wants 4 more years of Bush/Cheney - so McCain will get in by hook or by crook - will die/get poisoned and we will have Ms Palin as our next President.

what democracy are we talking about - that's just a sham......

depressed!!

Oh yea--Caribou Barbie can definitely solve the current economic crisis.

Maybe she can find some of those "efficiencies" she kept talking with Charlie about? Whatever the hell that might be.

This is very simple.

McCain has an obligation, running for President of the United States, to let the American peoples know everything about him that could affect his duty in office. To not do so would be an attempt to deceive and hide, from the American people, a valid concern that his Vice Presidential of choice could become President of the United States.

Secrecy and deception shows a lack of character as far, as I am concerned, and a basic disrespect to the American People and their right to decide who should be President.

Did the lies, the subterfuge, the hate mongering and the flip flopping not already convince you of McCain's lack of character?

This is just more proof of the same...McCain thinks he is Jack Nicholson screaming, "The truth? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

Did you miss the part where he released the last 8 years worth? What will mean something to you? His tonsils out at 12? More diversion from the real issues. this is what we have a VP candidate for.
