“I doubt we will bring it up in the election,” Dean said in April. “There is somewhat of a higher ethical bar on what we do. We don't have any Lee Atwaters or Karl Roves on our side.”

Somebody better wake up Howard Dean and inform him that Rove and Atwater are alive and well in the Dem camp. I guess the Kos said it, it's time to get down in the mud in this campaign.

McCain knows very well that this is absolutely his last chance to be president. His is a desperate quest, and there is no depth to which he will not sink in pursuit of his goal. Even if his term only lasts a year. This will satisfy him, and put all of us in desperate danger.

Do tell me I'm wrong. Tell me that Sarah Palin will all of a sudden make all the right decisions without allowing her administration to be taken over by the power-mad Cheney/Rove types.

I am concerned about his medical condition as he appears to have a tumour on his face.

Many people are survivors. Doesn't mean they are qualified to be president. Unless you're that 1-2% of the wealthiest Americans he represents you probably should educate yourself more on him and his policies.

You mean McCain would be the best president for the wealtiest in the country and Obama would be the best president for the middleclass and poor.

McCaskill looks older than McCain does, frankly. It ill-behooves her to start telling seventy-year-olds that they have one foot in the grave, it seems to me.

Lets assume ( god forbids) that he won on Nov......I am sure that big mistakes would be made by palin....if that happened , she must be impeached before she assumes the presidency ( who knows, the man is too old and too sick ). in this case the speaker would assume the job,and becomes a heart beat from the presidency.

Legally, you can't impeach somebody before they take office.

McCaskill...what do you call someone who is paid off for their vote like you were as a superdelegate?
There's a name from a woman who gets paid...so don't go there by mentioning John's age...and I won't go there about what you are being for Obama, OK? Good, now, shut up and move along!

I think we need to start posing questions about McCain's age, particularly given his medical history. After watching him in several interviews, I honestly question his mental clarity. He's made serious gaffes, and just doesn't seem that sharp. He's never allowed out without his wife or handlers. This is serious and something we need to question. I canvassed yesterday, and several people mentioned they had concerns about his age.

Insular McCain and naive Palin are GOP Puppets. The driving force behind power and financial leverage is the tangible elephant of the GOP ticket

First age, now health? You guys are going to send more voters over to the GOP.

B i d e n is 65 and has had 3 brain anuerysims. I repeat - brain anuerysims.

Remember - FDR served this country in a wheelchair.

Three brain aneurysms are far more worrisome than a few instances of skin cancer.

As for FDR, he was crippled by polio, which was not progressive. He died of a stroke, which had nothing to do with the illness that put him in a wheelchair.

That deafening silence you hear is the lack of perspective! Present facts and the arguement dies. This approach is best. Thanks for the reminder!

First of all, anyone with an iota of political savvy knows that McCaskill's comments were calculated and designed to plant doubts in the minds of voters and undermine McCain. It wasn't benevolence or political courage, it was just hardball politics, plain and simple. His age and health is a valid issue, but just so we all understand the motivations. It's no different from McCain using the term 'community organizer' all the time to highlight Obama's inexperience and urban black background.

Secondly, the cancer issue is being overblown here because you need to look at his specific situation and not general statistics about cancer survivors at age 72. He has not had a recurrence of melanoma in eight years and has in excess of a 75% chance now of it never returning. General statistics about 72 year olds who have had cancer obviously include a very great number of individuals who face more grim diagnoses. Much more likely is that McCain could see another, but unrelated, melanoma due to his extreme exposure to the sun while a POW. However, he is screened very extensively and would most likely catch that in it's early stages once again.

You are treading on very thin ground when you speak of Palin's inexperience while supporting Obama. It is very hard to argue that he has much more in the way of experience. I can't help but comment on the obvious hypocrisy in the posts here that neglect to address Obama's own foreign affairs weaknesses.

Why do folks insist on ignoring Obama's TWELVE YEARS of teaching CONSTITUTIONAL LAW as relevant experience? After 8 years of the document being used as toilet paper for the fecally challenged pResident who doesn't seem to have the reading level skills to actuall comprehend "The Very Hungry Catipillar" much less the Constutution, I definately consider someone focusing for TWELVE YEARS on this precious document relative experience. But I guess a BS in Journalism is comparable to a degree from Harvard and a Law Degree from Columbia, dontcha know. And finished 5th from last at the Naval Academy is superior education.

McCain clearly knows how to follow, given his make-the-extreme-right-happy VP pick. I see no evidence that he has any clue how to LEAD. Obama has kept his massive number of surragates on message for 20 months. Who is leading?
