Dunce

Via ThinkProgress, here's a video of various media types telling their viewers that it's totally okay that Sarah Palin doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is. Why is it okay? Because most Americans don't know what it is either! And they're right! In order for most Americans to know what is going on in the world, there would have to be some sort of public institution by which important facts would be systematically communicated to the general public, perhaps through an interconnected network of cathode ray tubes or something!

In other news, I took my car to get inspected Friday and was told I needed some sort of "tie rod end" replaced. Like most Americans, I didn't know what a "tie rod end" was, didn't see why I needed a wheel alignment on top of the repair, and certainly didn't see why I needed to pay two hundred and some-odd dollars to get it fixed! Sounded like it was just a way to get me to line the pockets of Big Auto Mechanic!

So I did what John McCain would do, with his War Heroism: I gave the dude who hangs out on the front stoop of the pawn shop across the street from my apartment fifty bucks to fix it. And he did! And I'm satisfied. Sure, the front quarter of the car now makes a grinding, keening noise that sounds like a quintet of robotic beagles being pummeled by meteors, but to me, that's just the sound of my freedom to tell elite know-it-alls to suck it. I think I know how to repair a car! I mean, from my land, I can see other cars!

Sen. McCain will win this election HANDILY....WHY?

1. A vast amount of Americans are stupid
2. The GOP is deceptive (they are the deceptacons)
3. McCain has a female running mate
4. A vast amount of women are stupid
5. A vast amount of women like to be used (McCain used his 1st wife, 2nd wife, now Palin and American women)
5. Women care more about femism than hardship
6. An important factor, a vast amount of Americans are racist
7. The Obama campaign isn't pushing back very hard
8. Obama has too much 'faith' in the American people
9. Most importantly, Barack Obama is biracial

Take it from a woman who didn't attend college, but uses common sense and is street smart.

A vast amount of Americans are afraid to come to terms with their bigotry. Therefore, they'll find all the excuse as to why they will not vote for Sen. Obama. Of course, there are the few whose reasons are not race related, but are strictly policy matters.

The argumentation that just because the average American doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is, Sarah Palin shouldn't be chided because she doesn't know it either is absolutely absurd. Please!
Then it would logically follow that just because I don't know how to do a heart bypass surgery, then my cardiac surgeon shouldn't be held to that standard either!!!
What kind of logic is that?

Everytime one of those idiot pundits kept saying "well, even I didn't know what the Bush doctrine was..", I was screaming at my tv, "WHO TF CARES ABOUT YOU? YOU'RE NOT APPLYING FOR VP!"
Boy, the MSM and the pundits, we need to get rid of these fools, they're harmful to America.

I learned the Bush Doctrine because we had two kids in Iraq! doesn't Palin have one going to Iraq? I followed Iraq close every sense! But she wants to be the V.P, I don't, and I know it! WRONG folks!

Even if she had answered the question correctly you still wouldn't vote for her. You are being dishonest.

While it's true that many of us wouldn't have voted for McCain even if she'd gotten the question right, you're missing the point. Her lack of knowledge shows how woefully unprepared she is to go onto the world stage. It's one thing to disagree with her policy positions, but it says something altogether different we she doesn't even know what those policy positions are.

I am appalled that the media is acting as though her NOT knowing doesn't mean anything. Is that the American media saying such a stupid thing.

Well media, exactly what IS A PRESIDENT SUPPOSED TO KNOW? Absolutely nothing if we leave it up to you guys:(

Go take a hike!

Chapmanp2:

"She's an energy EXPERT!!! Yeah that's the ticket... Probably knows more about energy than any American."

This segues into a Jon Stewart routine:

Voice Over: "Probably knows more about energy than any American."

Video excerpts are shown from "That's Entertainment" of old Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland musicals, including Mickey Rooney's line: "I don't where she found all that energy" then cut to Jon [smirking, of course]:

[pregnant pause] "Wasilla, perhaps?"

Cut to headlines: "Wasilla, Meth Capital of Alaska!" . . . .

Gergen and other media types excuse just about everything out of Palin's mouth. Is it because they are hesitant to call her account or is it because she represents someone they want to boing. The reason we don't want regular everyday people to lead this nation is because they don't know enough about the world, policy, doctrines etc to make an informed decision or comment. I am astounded when I travel abroad and find people overseas who know not only their nation's history but also more American History than Americans and they speak 3-5 languages other than their native tongue. If I wanted an idiot for president I would nominate and vote for my neighbor.

CNN in particular views itself as the McCain Palin defense team. An example Ed Koch who supported Bush said he now supports Obama because Palin scares him. Why .Because as theTime reported she tried to ban books . The gasbag at CNN would not even let him finish.

Of course that story has been shot down...

Many of the things Obamabots have been trying to say about her are just plain wrong...now, the bridge to nowhere debacle as well as earmarks are legitimate arguments, but attacking someone's religious beliefs will help Dems win how? Saying you can't be VP and take care of a special needs child was another ridiculous argument that has sparked strong opposition from many people...cut the BS and concentrate on legit issues to nail her on.

Exposing someone who was a member of dangerous cult is off limits? So if someone is a member of the Moonies, or a cult that believes mass suicide is a means to soul salvation, etc, is wrong if that person is running for VP? No, it is a patriotic duty. Of course, what will knock Palin out of the picture is Troopergate. She better pray Christ intercedes on her behalf or her days in politics are numbered.

Palin is scary because she is a member of a church that preaches a millenarian ideology called the "The Third Wave." They believe in trying to bring about the Second Coming of Christ and that they are the last generation, that everyone else will be destroyed but that they will be raptured. They see the rest of the world, from Costa Rican tree frogs, to the soil our food grows in, to the rest of humanity outside their belief system, and everything in between, as being the realm of Satan, and hey, destroying it is serving Christ, it's their God-given duty. Even the far-whacko Assembly Of God church has disavowed the ideology, but 2 of the 3 churches she attends in Alaska advocate it.

To clarify, the third wave charismatic movement Palin is associated with is involved with Latter Rain and Sons of Godship ideologies, among others, and the five-fold discipleship movement.

I think the reason voters can support candidates who have policies adverse to their well-being is the same reason societies for generations put up with despotic kings...for the latter their reward would be in heaven so there was little reason to change their miserable lives on earth, and for the former, their reward will be to become rich someday, like Jed Clampett. So the rich should have tax breaks as someday they will be able to take advantage of them. They can see no no problem with struggling with low wages while McCain repeatedly voted against minimum wage increases as that will eventually be a benefit to them when they have household staff, when they win the lottery or strike it rich on the stock market, or in Reno.

What does anyone expect with a bachelor's in journalism and no foreign affairs involvement? You may be ok with incompetence in the whitehouse, but we are sick of it.

She's an energy EXPERT!!! Yeah that's the ticket... Probably knows more about energy than any American.
So Sarah what are your positions on, solar, wind, geo thermal, & bio mass??? What's your plan for implementing them into our energy grid???
Sarah Palin's reply: In what respect Charlie??? (gives a little wink).
Anybody else notice Charlie biting his lip to keep from laughing when he lobbed the Hillary question & as she gave the answer???

She's such an EXPERT that she claims Alaska contributes 20% to America's energy when it actually contributes 3.5%...some difference.

But what the hay? It's only the truth...McCain/Palin can't be expected to tell the truth, that would be INCONVENIENT!

"Because most Americans don't know what it is either!"

Well, most Americans aren't running for vice president, either! If that had been Obama, the media would not have given him a pass on this issue. This is truly the dumbing down of America.
