I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Dunce

Via ThinkProgress, here's a video of various media types telling their viewers that it's totally okay that Sarah Palin doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is. Why is it okay? Because most Americans don't know what it is either! And they're right! In order for most Americans to know what is going on in the world, there would have to be some sort of public institution by which important facts would be systematically communicated to the general public, perhaps through an interconnected network of cathode ray tubes or something!

In other news, I took my car to get inspected Friday and was told I needed some sort of "tie rod end" replaced. Like most Americans, I didn't know what a "tie rod end" was, didn't see why I needed a wheel alignment on top of the repair, and certainly didn't see why I needed to pay two hundred and some-odd dollars to get it fixed! Sounded like it was just a way to get me to line the pockets of Big Auto Mechanic!

So I did what John McCain would do, with his War Heroism: I gave the dude who hangs out on the front stoop of the pawn shop across the street from my apartment fifty bucks to fix it. And he did! And I'm satisfied. Sure, the front quarter of the car now makes a grinding, keening noise that sounds like a quintet of robotic beagles being pummeled by meteors, but to me, that's just the sound of my freedom to tell elite know-it-alls to suck it. I think I know how to repair a car! I mean, from my land, I can see other cars!

Please write to the media too and let them know how disappointed you are in their coverage on the war, politics etc. They have sold out America.

That's how they make their money. By selling out America.

They don't care one iota about your disappointment.

You just have to try to wean yourself from the networks. I used to watch FOX everyday until I realized the propaganda they were spreading.

Even if most Americans don't know what the Bush doctrine is, they should expect and want their future VP to know it. I want the VP of the US to know much, much, more than I do, in the economy, and especially in foreign policy. We do not want a dumb man or woman being a heartbeat away from the presidency.
We have lowered our standards and our expectations, just because the republican party has said it is okay to have an inexperienced woman, who has been disconnected from the workings of government in the mainland. She has to be coached in the 11th hour, just to pronounce Ahmadenijad. We are not fools, we could see she was repeating all what she had crammed.

Don't we deserve leaders who know much more than the citizens?

So what if the 'average Joe Sixpack' is unaware of the Bush Doctrine. It's an irrelevant distraction to even state that.

Average Joe Sixpack is not on the Republican ticket without even being vetted by their own campaign.

You'll note that Palin will not be going on any Sunday talk show at all before the election. The ticket knows she has no idea what's going on.

What frightens me more than all the lies McCain and Palin tell is their collective ignorance. The Bush Doctrine (attack other countries and strike them first) has opened the door for our enemies, for example Iran, to attack the U.S. pre-emptively. Why? "Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran." If McCain is elected, who will be shocked when Iran attacks Israel and new terrorist attacks occur inside the U.S.? Those who fail to learn from history, get burned. But if any lesson is to be learned during the Bush W. years is that if history doesn't favor the GOP, just rewrite the books in its favor; facts be damned.

This is one of the problems when it comes to presidential elections. Instead of looking at factors that should matter, such as a candidates policies, their level or intelligence, or experience, too many people vote on likability.

Candidates are part of the problem in terms or understanding their policies. Few give many details so as to not get boxed in, but also, they're constantly adjusting their positions in the face of opinion polls.

The right wing has turned intelligence into a liability to some voters. If you're a democrat, and you're intelligent, you must be an elitist who can't identify with "small town America." It seems as though the right wing is basically saying "small town America" isn't too bright. Sadly, they may have a point if they are buying this Sarah Palin nonsense.

As for experience, Obama hasn't been in Washington as long as McCain, which seems to be a good thing when the Republicans talk about Palin, but a negative when discussing Obama. As a senator, Obama has dealt with more national issues, whereas Palin has been focused on city and state issues, but that also doesn't matter to Republicans.

We'll see what happens Nov. 4th, but I for one will not be surprised if McCain wins.

We are bogged down in a war in Iraq because the media aided and abetted Bush & Co to defraud the American people. Are you now expecting them to tell the truth about Palin?

Maybe McCain believed the fact that Palin didn't know the "Bush Doctrine" meant that they aren't going to be the "3rd term" of George W. Bush! Yeah! And I have a bridge to nowhere I'd like to sell you, too!!

Here’s a scary thought Amendment XX
If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President. If a President shall not have been chosen before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, or if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who shall then act as President, or the manner in which one who is to act shall be selected, and such person shall act accordingly until a President or Vice President shall have qualified.

john mclaughlin excused her "confusion" by saying that charlie gibson's question was wrong... supposedly the bush doctrine was revised in 2006, and sarah didn't know which version he was talking about.

which is a line of crap considering her initial response wasn't, "charlie, are you talking about the 2002 bush doctrine or the 2006 one?"

"in what regard, charlie?" is the answer of someone who has no idea what he's talking about and is hoping he'll give her a clue.

Her reply didn't address any of the versions of the Bush Doctrine.

We're talking about a candidate for Vice President, not the average guy with average knowledge of foreign policy. Even after Gibson told her what it was, she couldn't get it straight. Those who give her a pass are dumb or selling something.

I matters a great deal that Ms Palin did not know what the "Bush Doctrine" is! She wants to be the Vice President and potentially the President of the US? She is clearly unqualified for either position. Shame on you, John McSame.

Here's the thing.... I did know what the Bush Doctrine was, but I'm a junkie when it comes to politics. In my estimation there is no excuse for her not knowing what the Bush Doc was - None, Nada, zip, zilch. You have excepted the the second most powerful position in the free world - so being a dumb ass is not an option. McCain choosing this woman is the most irresponsible thing I've ever seen, just short of this country elected Bush for a second term that is. When am I going to wake up from this friggin' nightmare!!!
