A New York Times story on Sarah Palin's tenure as small-town mayor and governor finds numerous instances of Bush-like cronyism. Read the whole article for detail, but our favorite wrong person for the job is a high school friend of Palin's named Franci Havemeister. Palin appointed Havemeister to run the State Division of Agriculture, a 2 million dollar agency. Havemeister, a former real estate agent, cited her childhood love of cows as one of her qualifications.

Finally a breath of fresh air. Virtual reality lives. I have developed software to allow aspirants to appointed and elected positions to accumulate the experience they may want. As I write, I am listening to Palin who is 'live" on MSNBC talking about the financial mess we're in and how she and McSame-same are going to fix everything. Sarah was one of the first to buy our module "Economics R Us." A bit of a pun there as we like to relate to common, regular, working folk. Americans who live in this great nation, you know.

I'm writing this bit here and I hear her talking again about selling a jet on Ebay. I'm retired. I've already walked the dog. I'm going to golf.

And I'm going to write Palin on my golf balls. Sublime enough.

OK lets not get too harsh now. According to some media pundits and republicans, she wasn't supposed to know what the Bush doctrine is. And she is more than qualified on the National Security front because she can see Russia from her state. In other words she was keeping an eye on Putin and his goons.

The witch-trial hysteria of the past two incendiary weeks unfortunately reveals a disturbing trend in the Democratic Party, which has worsened over the past decade. Democrats are quick to attack the religiosity of Republicans, but Democratic ideology itself seems to have become a secular substitute religion. Since when did Democrats become so judgmental and intolerant? Conservatives are demonized, with the universe polarized into a Manichaean battle of us versus them, good versus evil. Democrats are clinging to pat group opinions as if they were inflexible moral absolutes. The party is in peril if it cannot observe and listen and adapt to changing social circumstances.

We have to remind ourselves, K-Street has been around for well over a decade. These kids grew up with the utter arrogance of the Republican party elected officials, promising local constituents their lives will be meaningful (think corrupt) if they pledge republicanism. Bush/Cheney outed themsleves, and set new standards for utter arrogance, which now translates in these scum bags spitting on the public with their obscene resumes.
