Fiorina Fey

McCain spokeswoman Carly Fiorina has weighed in on the major issue of today, namely, 30 Rock creator Tina Fey's portrayal of vice presidential contender Sarah Palin from this weekend's Saturday Night Live. Fiorina, astonishingly, termed it "disrespectful." Because that's what SNL does - paint flattering pictures of political figures. You'd think she'd be immune to such concerns, or at least not humorless about it -- after all, the very candidate she supports went on SNL last season and wittily lampooned his own age. But in Fiorina's opinion, Fey was "sexist" and failed to delve into Palin's substance.

Speaking of Palin's substance, today on the stump she loudly declared that she'd end the practice of Wall Street rewarding incompetent CEOs with "golden parachutes." Palin made no note of Fiorina's own $21 million-dollar ripcord, because I guess that would be too substantive.

[WATCH.]

MITCHELL: You are the first person from the McCain campaign I can ask, what did you think of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin?

FIORINA: Well, I think that she looked a bit like her. I think that, of course, the portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense, they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive, and Sarah Palin as totally superficial. I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes, I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance. She has a lot of substance.

Why does the media keep interviewing this woman? She has nothing to contribute to the conversation expect to accuse everyone of SEXISM. Is accusing people of sexism sexist?

Carly, who is shrill and off-base everytime she opens her mouth, is a broken record on the "sexist" theme broaching it regardless of he issue. "Ecomomy? Sexist.....Foreign Affairs? Sexist....Domestic Affairs? Sexist.....etc. Someone needs to give her some new talking points. No wonder she was fired from H.P. Lack of imagination. Between her and Tucker Bounds, it's hard to determine who is the biggest disaster as a spokesperson.

Well she is winning this election! So maybe will learn to refer to as the architect when this is all over. You see we republicans care about results not the rhetoric and the result of the last two elections was victory for us. We agree George Bush was not the best candidate we Republicans could have had, but when the American people look at what the Democrat Party had to offer your side Lost. This go round we have much better candidates and your side has decided to reduce your chance of winning with the choices you made. Your left wing bias media won't tell you that it is hopeless, but I think most of you ,deep down, know you haven't got a chance. The American people don't see weakness as an endearing quality like you Democrats do. We like our leaders to have a little backbone. We want to know that when the chips are down our leader understands he governs the "Home of the Brave." We are not cowards. The circle you people run is is all together different. Whiners, wimps, girlie men and immotionally fragile individuals who need the government to be the mommy and daddy they never had. If you will study the trends in the democrat party you will discover Dems and whores have a lot in common. Look into it!

christabor--It was just stated on MSNBC that comparing McCain's plan for rescuing our flailing economy and Obama's plan, McCain's plan lacks much substance and is more rhetoric. Obama's plan is said to have very specific plans with significant detail to implement. The "rhetoric" mantra is getting old christabor...What do you think of McCain's lifting Obama's message of Change? When McCain needed his base, he shouted from the rooftops that he voted with George Bush 90% of the time (100% in 2008), but now that he feels he has the wind at his back with Palin recruiting the far right of the party, NOW he's for change...of all things!! What a hypocrite...First he was the King of Deregulation and now?.....He wants to RE-REGULATE...With John McCain, it depends how the winds is blowing for how he will set his political sail...

Let's remember that Fiorina is a colossal business failure, like W. She was booted from leadership of hewlett-Packard after a disastrous stewardship, and the company recovered very quickly afterwards -- proving that she was the problem.

Typical Republican con artist, like the credit fraud types, incompetent but able to manipulate the system.

Excuse me? Disrespectful? Of COURSE it was disrespectful. Do you respect a complete political noob that's trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes, who lies every time she opens her mouth?

Respect should be earned.

Substance on a comedy show. Now that is funny.

Reminds me of an old joke:
Q: How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: That's not funny!

Didn't Fiorino get fired years ago? Jeez. How long's it taking her to get another job?

I wonder if she's been on unemployment all this time?

They have done this kind of parody to every president since Gerald Ford. Here's another case of special treatment. They did it to Bill and Hillary. Hillary appeared on the show.

What they hate is that it's funny because it's true and they can't spin it to blame it on Obama. They didn't want anyone to tell the truth or point anything out. It is not sexist to ask a person running for public office about the issues, yet they shield Palin behind Gibson and Hannity. She hasn't faced anyone with any substance who would ask her a good question, and press her for the answer that isn't scripted.

And, I'm sorry, they made fun of Hillary as well. They just didn't like the way they made fun of Palin, so it's sexist. That manipulation is really getting old -- the truth is coming out and their house of cards is falling down. Their convention is over! Read it on CNN!

Go back to your firing bonus Carly and be grateful that you don't have to stand in line like people who have lost their jobs without that package because of the policies people with your limited scope have implemented.

Carly, please, Are you trying to prove your worth as a woman? don't you have to go run another company into the ground? Go away.

I wouldn't trust Carly Fiorina with a burnt out match, after what she did at HP. She's a member of the Good Ol' Boys club in good standing, which means she's no Democrat and probably looks up to George Bush.

That must be her problem. No good role models.
