It should be pointed out that he did not actually steal the money. It was specified that the money was being loaned to customers in need, which is what banks do; they loan money to customers in exchange for interest. These particular loans were unauthorized, as specified in his conviction, but technically, it wasn't theft. Furthermore, it is stated that he ensured the accounts he defrauded received the full interest they were due, so he didn't deprive them of what they would have received if he had invested their money as intended. He did put their money at higher risk, and it remains to be seen if those unauthorized loans will be paid back in full, so it's not entirely victim-less, but how many bankers here are going to jail for unauthorized, high-risk investments?

No matter his altruistic motives, theft is wrong. He would have been better served functioning as a sort of router to connect well-heeled clients with struggling clients. I applaud his "reported" intent, but I must raise my eyebrows at and condemn his methodology.

However, as more people start to struggle in this world and more specifically here in the U.S., I expect robbery, theft, and burglary rates to rise. That is a pessimistic forecast that I hope does not come to fruition but it is not out of the realm of possibility. Buy stock in security firms that make technology or provide staffing or monitoring services, this would be the suggestion for making money in the market of such a world of pain and suffering. Gated communities are on the rise, elaborate home security systems are being installed daily. Get yourself a big dog and take some self-defense classes, it could get ugly.

I agree that theft is wrong and he is on his way to the pokey. But that said I can't help but commend his humanity. It is tough to see people struggling to survive and know that the rich don't give a rat's a..
You are right about it getting ugly. We are in for the roughest days in this country. I for one have two Pits and plenty of arms. I live in the ghetto and have for many years.

The ghetto is the place to live because when things unravel the ghetto is where the ground zero mentality is always in effect 24/7 and thus one will not need to change their mentality very much. I do not live in the ghetto but I have not forgotten the training I received when I did live there. The like-minded may hook up before all is said and done and form a new approach to this existence thing that we do. I know so many people (rich, poor, educated, illiterate, etc...) who see that the way this society is being run is not the best we can do. Most of us are waiting for a clear sign that the masses are truly tired and then we will unite to take back what is good about America and to destroy what is bad. This is our duty per the founding principles. With the wealth in America, there is no way things should be as they are. I am not calling for socialism I am calling for sanity before it is too late.

Sincerest regards per usual
