McCain's campaign has been all over the place today - from the economy, to his criticism of morning show anchors, to whether he invented the BlackBerry and on Sarah Palin's inability to run a company. And to make matters worse, conservative pundits are turning against McCain.

The biggest flub came this morning when McCain slammed Wall Street "fat cats" even though his single biggest donor is Merrill Lynch. After denouncing the very people that help pay for his campaign, McCain suggested the government set up a commission to look into what went wrong. Barack Obama criticized McCain for "passing the buck" on the economy:

Democratic candidate Barack Obama says he will take regulatory oversight seriously as president and accuses his Republican opponent, John McCain, of wanting to "pass the buck."

McCain proposed Tuesday to create a commission to study how the economic crisis came about. McCain compared it to the Sept. 11 commission established to investigate the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The classic rockers don't want to be associated with him either. Obviously he is not informed about intellectual property laws. Either that or he is above the law like Bush 43.

If this gets any worse for McCain he'll drop her off at the curb like a used piece of meat and find him a candidate that has an economic background and this time he will vet this person for more than an hour. He's in a no win situation. If he keeps her she'll be a drag on his campaign and if he gets someone else the women will feel betrayed. This is what he gets for not making a sound decision. He could have been vetting potential running mates over 2 months while Obama and Clinton were battling out the Dems ticket. This goes to show he doesn't have any planning experience either. If a national crisis should happen on his watch he'll be trigger happy and bye bye Earth!!

I'm reading Hunter Thompson's _Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72_ ...it's amazing~! The parallels: Nixon went farther than Palin, rarely talking to the press. And no debates. He won by over 20 pts. And now I watch the children of those voters, the Baby Boomers, and consider a book of my own: "The Worst Generation"

You are probably right except if McCain dumps Palen he will not do a good job of vetting because that John McCains way of doing things by impulse instead of thoroughness. Maverick-No, Crackpot-yes McCain is a "Loose" cannon!

I agree, he looks lost and totally out of his league. He is past his prime and it shows. I'm sure there are many senior citizens who can handle stress and adversity--he is definitely not one of them.

McCain should have released all of his medical records when he decided to run for potus, if for no other reason than to prove he's up for the job. Especially if he really loves America and wants what's best for the country. My personal feeling is he's running for pride, you know, becoming pres will totally cap a long career. Absolutely the worst possible reason.

Tomorrow, Palin is on Hannity and Colmes and that could be pretty bad as well, particularly because it should be good. Does that make sense?

Cindy Lou is nervous that history is going to repeat itself and she is going to be the one getting tossed.

I'm surprised that no one has latched onto Cindy McCain's comments on The View that Senator McCain always watches ESPN. Another sports fan is not what we need in the White House. I'd rather he read business journals, watched business news, studied health care, etc.

You were just wishing he would do that. You see, he got a cadre of illogical, bone-headed advisors in the likes of Graham, Giuliani and Romney who will scour the business journals, Fiorina who will watch business news,( oops sorry she is THE business news on FOX) and probably some in the obscure to advise on healthcare issues. With groups like this who needs people with intellect?

McCain is an empty suit. He no more understands what is happening to the economy than he recognizes why Palin is completely unsuitable and unprepared to be President. As Sen. Obama said, "he just doesn't get it". He recognizes that this problem was caused by greed, but can't, in a million years, figure out what the causes of this crises are or how to begin to rectify the situation. He is moribund in the neocon philosophy of supply side economics, de-regulation and notions of utopian free markets. The reality is that this nightmare was fathered by the neocons and nurtured by Alan Greenspan. The Bush Administration, the previous Republican Congress, and the Fed under Alan Greenspan have turned the greatest economy on the planet into a World War I-esque no man's land of muck, mire and gore, that we, the people, will be lucky to servive without a "Grapes of Wrath" style depression. We don't need a Hoover; we need a Roosevelt. We don't need good ole folksy wisdom; we need intellect and education. God help us if McCain gets elected. God help this planet.

I've posted this before but here's a little history for you to ponder if you missed it:

The great depression of the late 20s and thirties happened during a republican administration (Hoover) which was preceded by 2 republican administrations (Harding and Coolidge) and was ultimately fixed during a democratic administration (F. Roosevelt) followed by a stable growing economy under another democrat (Truman).

The recession of the 70s happened during successive republican administrations (Nixon and Ford) and was fixed by a democrat (Carter)

The present recession was started by deregulation during successive republican administrations (Reagan and Bush 41) and it was interrupted by a democrat (Clinton) where it was fixed for a time and then continued under the present administration (Bush 43) to the present situation.

I've had to edit this a little to include the 1989 recession (Reagan) and the 1991 recession (Bush 41)

Now I want someone to justify electing another republican to fix the problem. For some reason this doesn't make any sense to me. If there are respondents that challenge my conclusions I want links to your data.

Ok so you can't tell who is who here. May have to change my name to DemocratMI. See ya later McCain/Palin. Palin seems very intelligent and motivated. Generally a good combination unless she is an extremist. I cannot dignify McCain with a comment. After tonight I have a better understanding of the Mcnot who I seem to be crowd. McRove still here. Why can't the repub right stand for honesty? Not convenient and they go to church every Sunday to repent. Sad news.......actions get you to heaven....the repubs will figure the rest out eventually.

The bad news for Christians who support liars is that repentance isn't repentance if you plan on doing the exact same thing in the coming week! God isn't fooled and doesn't approve of such tactics.

For John McCain and his supporters, here's one of God's top ten favorites:
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour." (Exodus 20:16 KJV)

Congrats, spoken like a true moderate that sees reality not the flag and the bible that the repubs have shown as the idols that we are not supposed to worship before thee. I take pride in the flag and the bible but do not appreciate the repubs wrapping themselves in the flag when the emporer has no clothes. Do not worship any idols before me is what I remember. Oh yes there was also the all people [sic] were created equal thing in the constitution. As long as you are not gay, black, female or Muslim. I applaud Bush for being transparent, it was obvious he put HIS religious beliefs before country. Now McCain and his talented but extremist VP wannabe think it is their turn.
