The Obama camp, sensing blood, released a new ad this morning taking John McCain to task for calling the fundamentals of the economy "strong" in the midst of a financial sector crisis.

Titled, "Fundamentals," the spot runs through some of the more alarming headlines of recent days: "Lehman Brothers Collapses," "Markets In Turmoil," "Job Losses at 605,000 For The Year," and "Foreclosures at 9,800 A Day," before getting to McCain's line and repeating it three times. The ad ends with the knife: "How can John McCain fix our economy if he doesn't understand it's broken?"

Coming off the back-and-forth between McCain and Obama yesterday, it seems clear that the campaigns will again focus on economy today. Certainly, the spot reflects a more populist tone that Obama is seeking to strike.

The ad, the campaign says, will air in "key states," but these things have become the equivalent of daily video press releases.

When is McCain going to talk more about his economic plan for Social Security?

You know, the one where new legislation allows average Americans to invest their Social Security in the Market where they watch their money grow with secure financial companies like Lehman and AIG!

The ad is a good one. It just is not reaching the people who need to see it. The older voter without a computer and the working people who do not have the time to search the net. These need to be on the national level.

I think it says it will air in key states not online.... which reminds me, did you folks see that McCain invented the blackberry? I laughed so hard I cried!

He invented the blackberry? The guy does not know how to use a computer. Does he even know what a microprocessor is? Has he ever heard the term "circuit board"?

Right on Obama! We need real Change in this country and not John McCain who's entire campaign is packed with lobbyists.

Your help is needed. If you're ready for change, please share this video with all of your family and friends.

Go to youtube and do a search for "thinkverybig" and watch all of those videos. The one called "We Must Change" would be fitting to recite at Obama's Inauguration.

Here's a community organizer that's reached out to over 20,000 youth and has a goal of touching a million by teaching them the game of life using the game of chess. Click below to watch video.

More careful slicing and dicing, this is as valid as the "lipstick on a pig" claims.

Excellent spot. The question is how do you get the American people to see this and other ads that reflect McMock being out of touch?

Great ad. It has that subliminal message of "It's the ECONOMY stupid."

People calm down, please.

This election is going to be won based on the economy and the grassroots.

Actually, I think it implies, "It's the STUPID economy of the GOP".

Sell treasuries (print money) andlower interest rates to pay for a war, which crases the dollar and spurs inflation,

allow corporations to avoid taxes by moving operations and profits overseas,

allow war profiteer companies to hire US employees through shell companies in the Cayman Islands so no payroll taxes are paid,

allow profits to go to the wealthy by putting the risk on American tax payers,

allow hedge funds and private equity to speculate on commodities without regulation so price volitility erodes consumer confidence,

establish big government like the DHS and take a $5 trillion dollar surplus to an $8 trillion dollar deficit,

lavish the oil companies with $78 billion in subsidies,

obstruct the EPA from raising CAFE standards,

Edit out the work of scientists to deny global warming and prevent innovation and investment that can create new jobs,

prevent stem cell research so other countries can make economic gain from US inventions,

and on and on...............

CNN played Mccains' ad first, and then they played Obamas' ad, (back to back).
Big difference. View it on his website.

Run, Obama, Run!

The stronger anti-McCain tone the Obama campaign has taken is necessary but not sufficient for him to win the election. Obama also needs to get a positive economic message out touting specific policies that will fix this mess.

deabtes ...............

& stop acting like an idiot ...

you think the 70% of the ignorant electorate ..... go to the booth & vote for who can solve their problems ....... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they vote the person the dislike less .... from the Ads they watch .......... Obama is doing a good job ... making people question & disgust Mc Cain .. so they wouldn't pull the lever for him in the booth ....

70% of the ignorant electorate .. make up their mind .. when they get at the voting booth ... it's a sad reality ..

Uh, he's been running pro-economy, positive messages since the primaries. Apparently the electorate isn't paying attention or that's not enough for them. Otherwise no way would the election be close (even with race as a wildcard) if it was simply enough to tell voters that you will:

1) CUT their taxes
2) Issue their family a $1,000 stimulus check
3) Increase college affordability
4) Provide accessible universal healthcare
5) REGULATE the markets and industries to ensure the middle class is protected

and these are just off the top of my head!

The electorate believes republican lies. We just have to work even harder to fight through the lies.
