Taylor Hicks, the gray-haired winner of American Idol in 2006 (with 63.4 million total votes cast), has signed up to play the Teen Angel in the national tour of the Broadway revival of "Grease."

The Alabamian will be following in the footsteps of Frankie Avalon. The show plays Chicago's Auditorium Theatre Jan. 6-18, 2009.
