Mccain And Palin

Fox News:

McCain town hall style meetings are generally open to the public where anyone may wait in line on the day of the event and come in without an advanced invitation.

However, at tonight's 3,500 person townhall in Grand Rapids, Michigan-the first time Palin is taking questions from the public- only ticketholders are allowed in.

Bizarre. There are 3,500 people in Grand Rapids that wanted to see Grandpa and Ellie Mae?

"The religious leaders that Palin admires, such as Dobson, are petty despots. They travel on private jets, have huge personal fortunes and descend on the faithful surrounded by a retinue of burly bodyguards. These little kingdoms, awash in the male leadership cult, mirror the America they seek to create. In this America, there is no questioning. In this America, followers surrender their personal and political power. The divinely anointed male leader rules a flock of obedient and submissive sheep. All must hand over their freedom. All must cease to think independently"

That's an excellent article. The author's book is excellent as well..

Where the 'wheels' fall off of religion occurs when the ones preaching the word of GOD, confer upon themselves to their congregations that they were 'anointed' as a spokeman for GOD. And, it is this false claim of being an appointed agent of GOD that is the basic ruination of organized religion, as the people then are blackmailed by their fear of GOD's wrath should they question a man or women who rises up 'being' appointed by GOD.

And whether it is James Dobson or Creflo Dollar, these crooks prey upon those who many sincerely want and seek to worship their faith; they suck enormous amounts of money from their followers and openly use it to enrich their own personal lives. And, while the Bible does note that GOD works in mysterious ways, his wonders to behold; it is odd that he who sent a simple carpenter to spread his 'word' would be so over-represented by greedy, selfish and self-absorbed men and women driving fancy cars and living in mansions.

The irony and sickness of it all, is quite depressing; except for the fact you can get the same message for oneself for no cost, by just allocating a hour or two each week to reading the Bible. But sadder still is the realization that religion has become more social in nature than religious enlightment; whereas, being seen by the right folks is far more important.

Ticket holders only? If the tickets cost even a penny, that is not a "town hall" meeting that's a fund raiser.

McCain's campaign says that the questions won't be pre-screened. Of course, they won't need to be - not when you only let the people who love you through the doors. That is the ONLY way the even can be reported on as being a positive thing for him. What a joke he is on himself!

Also like the first Town Hall that Fox News aired after McCain said he wanted 10 with Obama. That was a farce as well and even Fox News admitted tickets were given out only to McCain supporters. McCain is fooling no one with these events and that is reason why Obama ignored his called for them and offered his own version where McCain or Obama couldn't pad the audience. McCain obviously said no. That's why the media doesn't even bring it up or go after Obama. They themselves have to know how much of a farce those Town Hall meetings really are.

I'm sure they have handed the questions out too! What a farce. Might be why O didn't want to be a part of these cozy town hall meetings.

When asked about empowerment for women, the first thing Palin mentioned was sports, title IX. She sounded like a college graduate interviewing for her first job. (Playing sports has taught me about team work, commitment, sacrifice...blah, blah, blah) Then she mentioned equal pay for equal work as if as a society we'll get to that point eventually (if ya keep a good attitude). Seriously people, Palin would be a great motivational speaker, but running the most powerful nation on Earth. Unh, uh.

Good point! Although, I will say Title IX was an issue here a year or two ago...maybe trying too hard to pander to audience? Dunno. T w i t just the same.
