Fox News:

McCain town hall style meetings are generally open to the public where anyone may wait in line on the day of the event and come in without an advanced invitation.

However, at tonight's 3,500 person townhall in Grand Rapids, Michigan-the first time Palin is taking questions from the public- only ticketholders are allowed in.

She sould like sh'e running for H.S. class president.. (She's taking English over again.)

Well, I think because I am a Washington outsider that opponents are going to be looking for a whole lot of things that they can criticize and they can kind of beat the candidate here who chose me as his partner to kinda tear down the ticket,” Palin said. But as for foreign policy, you know I think that I am prepared, and I know that on January 20th if we are so blessed as to be sworn into office as your president and vice president, certainly we'll be ready. I'll be ready. I have that confidence. I have that readiness and if you want specifics with specific policy or countries, go ahead. You can ask me. You can play stump the candidate if you want to. But we are ready to serve."

This sounds like something the McCain campaign would do.

READ THIS!!!

In his 2002 memoir, “Worth the Fighting For,” he wrote, revealingly, “I didn’t decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I’d had the ambition for a long time.”

Everything about him is a lie...sounds familiar.

TAKE THE DAY OFF WORK ON NOV 4TH!! There are going to be some long lines.

Give. Volunteer. Vote. I do. www.barackobama.com

I saw him say that live in an interview. It was disconcerting to say the least.

I think he has this deep seated need to show up his deceased father and grandfather. He needs to show that since he couldn't be as successful as they were on the battle field, he can at least be President.

He would never be an Admiral like his father and grand father, I guess he didn't have the right stuff

Ask her how many books she has read. Picture books don't count.

I cannot WAIT for the VP debate. Biden is going to chew her up and spit her out like a stale piece of gum.

Gwen Ifel will be moderator. I hope she doesn't allow her to evade the questions like everyone else has.

It can't be just Obama supporters who think this Palin trick is a little weird.

Just having her is a joke. She avoids the media and when she doesn't it looks staged. This townhall thing isn't a good thing for them. Everyone knows it is staged. The big issue I have is that even with this stage craft, she is still not proving herself.

Well said, David. It is a joke and it p isses me off that more in the media are not voicing this blatantly obvious fact.

...and she is trained as a journalist! Local reporters - h3ll, interns - have more stage presence than she does.

Yup yup.

What happened to Palin's promise of transparency in government? If she has nothing to hide why not just submit to a deposition under oath regarding Troopergate and get it over with. I'll tell you why. The same advisors that advised Bush and Cheyney to refuse to comply with subpoenas over these last two terms are the same ones that are now "handling" Troopergate. More of the same --you bet. Get rid of these bums before they ruin our great democracy.

As one commentator put it, this McCain-Palin townhall was so yesterday. The markets are tumbling and the economic crisis worsening and these two idiots are talking about pork barrel spending. McCain just lost the election. It's the economy, stupid.

These kind of townhalls are for these two swindlers to sell their snakeoil: one boasted the other's already-boasted-records. Palin: "Thanks but no thanks!" But Palin took the money didn't she? So, to Palin, "No" meant "Yes". McCain: "We are against earmarks". But Palin, despite her boasting that she cut off half a billion in earmark, she still got earmarks $671 per Alaskans, ten times more than any other 49 states, so Palin is still corrupted, even less than her Republican fellow ex-governor Stevens! No wonder they have surplus budgets! They sucks federal money dried while other states, like Illinois with 14 millions people got only $60 per person. So to McCain and Palin, "No" meant "Yes, we got ten times more earmarks!" . That is why Palin is the most popular governor of the 670,000-person State. See what her Alaskan fellows said:

http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/528419.html
"McCAIN 2008 -PALIN: LIE WITHOUT BLINKING! Vote DEMOCRAT for AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE, WOMEN'S CHOICE, VETS BENEFITS, EQUAL PAY".

A woman gave Palin a chance to make an argument for her policy credentials, and her answer didn't give one specific.

"Well, I think because I am a Washington outsider that opponents are going to be looking for a whole lot of things that they can criticize and they can kind of beat the candidate here who chose me as his partner to kinda tear down the ticket,” Palin said.

Wow.

Then McCain followed up with "ENERGY!" and continued to exploit her son who's enlisted.

As far as I'm concerned, something is wrong with a political ticket when the top guy on the ticket puts the VP candidate center stage.

I wondered how her son, who is about 19 years old could have been part of the guard that responded after 9-11. According to what McCain said at the meeting, that is how it sounded.

Sarah Palin is just a gimmick!
The Republicans keep saying how popular
she is in Alaska-----------is this supposed to mean something?
Are the Republicans serious?
Shame on them for this fakery and fraud they are perpetuating
on the American people. It is insulting to voters and a mockery to
the articles of the United States that Americans hold dear.
How can anyone vote for Bush 44 aka McCain.or Sarah McMoose
Look at this economy--Bush and Co has thoroughly
trashed America

If you watch the "town hall" event they didn't give any substantial answer to any question that was asked. They interrupt one another and throw out catch phrases to rile up the crowd that they "assigned" tickets to and then they move on to the next question. And people wonder why Obama didn't want to be involved in this lunacy.
