Fox News:

McCain town hall style meetings are generally open to the public where anyone may wait in line on the day of the event and come in without an advanced invitation.

However, at tonight's 3,500 person townhall in Grand Rapids, Michigan-the first time Palin is taking questions from the public- only ticketholders are allowed in.

I am a computer games programmer and she does have a feel of the computer models.

But the scary thing is that,I know people who fall in love with those models.

While at university, once in the laboratory i met some dudes playing a game and i could hear dudes saying sh*t like
ooh,she is so hot.mind you they were referring to a computer model,in other words drawing.

To some people its real.

McSame on McMoose's foreign policy experience: "She's commander of the Alaskan National Guard."

She has never exercised that authority, not once!!!

All I could think while i was reading this was "Oh my God". I'm starting to think it was her husband who made decisions while she was governor (not that they were wise decisions) but really this woman doesn't have a clue (ok, ok, I know this has been obvious since she stepped on the scene). But really...this has gone beyond ridiculous.

McCain has to answer the questions put to her. Her press secretary has to get back to the media with an update of her experience because she doesn't know how to answer the question? And then they repeat the same old "they're on the russian border (now they're on the border) and she's commanader of the national guard (but has never issued a directive)

There is no way this woman should be allowed anywhere near the White House. With the issues facing our country it will be a disaster.

Which ever way you look at it,its a disaster. Todd looks dumb as well.

But in case u were wondering, when she was elected mayor of Wassila (less than 7000 inhabitants then) ,she hire some one else to do the day to day running(executive duties) while she just sits in the chair as a symbol.

Understand...Grand Rapids, Michigan is a very religious, conservative Republican community. Need I say more?

There's a lot of religious people but how many of them are true Christians?

When people identify with proven liars and what they stand for, that says it all.

So, except for Grand Rapids, I can wait in line on the day of a McCain event?

No can do, I have to watch some paint dry, then re-arrange my sock drawer.

This is really getting pitiful and quickly. The answer she gave the Hillary supporter on equality for women was lame giberish and BS.

Give us some details and examples of your strategies and plan for economic empowerment for women,” she said.

McCain signaled for Palin to answer the question.

“Well first let me take a shot at that, and I’ll tell ya, I’m a product of Title IX in our schools, where equal education and equal opportunities in sports really helped propel me into the—I guess into the position that I’m in today where,” Palin said.

“Sports were very, very important to me growing up, you know just learning about self discipline and healthy competition and about what it takes to win and even how to graciously lose sometimes. But how to win, that’s what it teaches ya. Now, I was a product of Title IX where legislation allowed that equal opportunity. Now if we have to still keep going down that road to create more legislation, to get with it in the 21st century, to make sure that women do have equality especially in the work place, then we’re there because we understand that in this age we have all got to be working together. I respect you so much that you are a Democrat recognizing that John McCain and me as a team of mavericks understand where you’re coming from, and we can work together on these issues. But yup, equality for women, for all, that’s going to be part of the agenda and I thank you for that question.”

Here on the NYT caucus is an article about her response. She blabbed on about Title IX and that it helped her as she was a basketball player. It was very lame. Compare that to the webcast that Clinton and Biden did on equal pay and other women's issues---that webcast was thoughtful, insightful, in depth and yet accessible to anyone without being patronizing. Here's the link for the NYT recounting of the town hall.

Also, she apparently wasn't allowed to say much about foreign policy even though she challenged the audience to play, 'stump the candidate.' McCain took over at that point. Here's the link: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/09/18/palin-unscripted/#comment-546400

hehe..you people out there don't really think that mccain/palin are interested in fielding questions from 'non-supporters' do you? now i get why obama called these little town hall meetings a 'gimmick'....

interviews with hannity, couric...etc... no press conferences... skewered on supposed 'friendly' venues like 'the view'.. palin fielding a 'unscripted' question making the evening news as a top story...mccain's surrogates making gaffes day in and day out..

this ticket is a JOKE..a JOKE..a JOKE...

he's out at this 'town hall', staffed with the faithful, and he still needs to consult his index cards, like this is a damn book report he's delivering...it's pretty painful to watch...talk from the heart, john! drop the cue card, rote repetition bullshit!! you and your goons got us into this mess, at least have some sort of plan to try and fool me into thinking that you even care about getting us out...if mccain wasn't running for office, do you think he'd care about what's going on? he's part of the country club circuit...he gets to go golfing with the Bushies....wear his $500 loafers.....

and no more of this 'awwww, but he was a POW' nonsense... now 40 years later you want to still keep milking that cow to explain away your lack of ideas...lack of integrity...lack of sense to keep you from getting in bed with the scumbags that now you want to 'kick out of washington'?

Well if the whole audience were GOPs then prescreening questions would not be necessary - I guess they posed non sequitur questions like, "when is your daughter's wedding,?"

I guess they know if O'Biden supporters came in they would have a problem protecting their prom queen.

Go Obama/Biden '08

They actually posed some very good questions, asking her for specifics on economic empowerment for women and her experience in national security. You have to see it to believe it but she was so unable to answer the questions that McCain had to answer the questions for her and then her press secretary released a list of her so-called foreign policy experience (the usual b.s on alaska being close in proximity to russia and commanding the national guard).

The "living in a state with 2 international borders" line should be used against them. It is the most ridiculous line ever used on the American people. It's embarrassing.

The word "maverick" is really just code word for a pair of bumbling idiots who can ramble out party lines without even needing to say things of substance.

When did we invade Canada and annex Ottawa??

Wish there were a few hidden cameras at those GOP offices when people picked-up their tickets - bet there was a whole lotta party-affiliation profiling going on! Non-standard hair color - "Oh sorry, we're out of tickets" Facial piercings - "We don't seem to have your name here" Non-caucasian "Are you sure you're an American? Only Americans can vote (big smile)"
