On the eve of today's 221st anniversary of the U.S. Constitution's adoption, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia told conservative lawyers in Chicago that the University of Chicago Law School -- where he used to teach -- has lost its edge and gone liberal.

Back in the days when Scalia -- the court's most vocal supporter of adhering to the text of the constitution -- used to teach at the school, which was then more associated with conservative economist Milton Friedman. The courses had more rigor and the school had a more conservative ethos, Scalia told 500 members of the conservative Federalist Society of lawyers at the Union League Club Tuesday.

After Scalia left the school, it hired now-Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and started offering classes like Obama's popular "Current issues in Racism and the Law."

Call it what you want, I call it my "dream school" and believe me it is my school only in my dreams.

By the time you make it into the majority on the supreme court, Tony, "edge" is whatever you're not.

I'm sure they'll hop right on that, thanks Justice Scalia!

Milton Friedman was wrong too - good news if the school truly is evolving...assuming the evolution thing, of course

"the court's most vocal supporter of adhering to the text of the constitution", yeah, he is evil trying to follow the constitution. What the heck is he thinking? Just ban guns and allow abortions and you will be a favorite here.

Like heck he sticks to the constitution. That's a pose, not a philosophy or a position. Scalia's no more and no less likely to 'stick to the constitution'--if that can even be defined--than any other justice.

What??? He sticks to constitution? Now that is funny. for one he supports a unitarian executive branch that is so far from the constitution it ain't funny. He twists the constitution more like he interprets it the way he wants to and when you disagree with him he gives you the Italian chin flip, basically the big F you. Besides Guns an abortion are the least of our worries these days, to bring you up to speed we have a 9 trillion dollar debt, we are loosing manufacturing jobs at an alarming rate, the stock market is tanking, no one can get a loan to buy a house.. the list can go on but you think it is nothing more than guns and abortions, that is real smart, you should stop watching Fox news and do some research and maybe you will figure out that Republicans have destroyed this once great country.

Scalia, isn't that a social disease?

It's a pox on both houses.

He is a dangerous man. He lambaste the media who questions his logic. And when he throws his two cents into everything he gets ticked when people take him to task on them.

The reptilian scales on Scalia are starting to show.

Never mention the word scales in reference to Scalia, it's opens the door to insults about him. For example, he not only tips the scales of justice, but literally tips the friggin' scales. I am disappointed that you encouraged me to insult a member of the US Supreme Court. You've cheapened us all, sir.

What?

Scalia is the kind of judge that would have ruled against abolishing slavey because it was a liberal notion.

Scalia is certainly one of the Bush/Cheney minions.

He disrespects the court and this country by this type of unprofessional talk. Downgrading the U of C standing and in light that he taught there and describes himself as doing a "better" job is so slimy. That he calls certain courses there, "exotic" is low of the low. That he uses words from the McCain/Bush/Rove speak like "exotic" - a Republican and right wing code word for non-us and racial slur- I have lost any willingness to believe anything out of the mouth of this person.

Regarding McCain stopping the troopergate investigation:

This is outrageous, the Investigator should threaten to reveal all the evidence he has accumulated so far, including the phone recordings if the republicans and Alaska's Attorney General try to stall or end the investigation. For Christ's sake, Bill Clinton had to testify at his impeachment trial (for an unimpeachable offense) and he was President of the USA,what the heck is this? And since the republicans under John McCain are now spearheading the efforts to quash or stall the hearings, the democrats need an AD asking Shara Palin "What is it you are hiding? we must know if you want to be the Vice President and possibly President of the USA". Democrats don't BLINK!! This a matter of TRUST.

Obama - Biden 08......... People you can trust and believe in!!
