Politico:

Whipsawed by the government's on-again, off-again intervention in the nation's financial crisis, House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said Wednesday that congressional Republicans "don't feel like they understand the coherent strategy" of the Bush administration -- "if there is one."

Republicans are upset with the White House on two fronts.

First, they say that administration officials haven't done enough to keep them in the loop on its plans for addressing the crisis.

Second, they don't much like the plans.

kinda fascinating watching these folks eat each other... throw each other under the bus and generally abandon the facade of morality and ethics that they have been abusing everyone with... pathetic bunch of crooks followed by a sad bunch of emotional, non-intellectuals....

That's why the Founding Fathers, with wisdom and lessons hard-learned from British rule, set up our government with THREE branches of government. The Republicans claim to cherish the Founding Fathers but look what the GOP did.

GOP must be dumb as rocks... millions of people have their life savings tied up in these financial giants, and they want to stand up there and say the government though it failed to regulate shouldn't interfere with "free" markets... how stUpid can you be???

WTH - he is doing what he has always done 'whatever he wants'.
You clowns have let him get away with it for so long now, that he figured you do NOT need to know.
Welcome back to the 'real' America.

After running away from Bush and pretending that he isn't even part of their Republican party anymore can they really blame the guy for not sharing his plans with them?

No coeherent strategy? They act like that's new for this administration.

Why are they complaining. Bush did everything he promised, and for many years of his presidentcy they had a majority and backed him. This isn't some aberation that they were fooled into, this is the logical result of the policies THEY backed.

They should be giving a public APOLOGY for having supported and being responsible for this mess.

Right and they were the Bush enablers. Roadblocking the Democrats every step of the way. Bush could never have gotten this far without them.

I don't think he understands the issues and I'm not sure he's being well-briefed on it. I can understand Blulnt's consternation. There doesn't seem to be a clear pattern of who gets saved and who doesn't and that means there's no clear rationale going on.

Roy Blunt and the GOP shouldn't be suprised. The Bush economic choices are as clear as the Bush foreign policy rationale:

Afghanistan: the Taliban was involved with the 911 terrorists -- invade.

Iraq: not linked to the 911 terrorists that anyone has ever proven -- invade.

Saudi Arabia: the majority of the 911 terrorists (including OBL) were Saudis, the Saudis stalled us in a bombing against Americans on Saudi soil, and mega-money from Saudi assests flowed to the 911 terrorists -- no invasion?

I was about to say the failure of big companies like Leheman Brothers has to hurt Bush's wallet too, but the Bush family probably have all their money in nice, safe Saudi banks (and maybe in Euros)

Isn't it ironic that the Republican reaction, to whether or not Alaskan Governor Palin abused her authority upon some of the citizens of Alaska, is to send lawyers from outside of Alaska to sue the Alaskan legislators who are leading a bi-partisan investigation, dominated by local Republicans? McCain is throwing his political weight around to prove Palin didn't throw her political weight around. Only in America!

I recommend that you all read the full article. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13541.html It is very revealing take from a woman who has studied the man for a long time. And here's a quote that I have read before but bears repeating from jMc 2002 Memoir:

(In his 2002 memoir, "Worth the Fighting For," he wrote, revealingly, "I didn"t decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I"d had the ambition for a long time.")

The Republican government has just nationalized a hefty and critical chunk of the American economy; this looks like National Socialism to me.

This is another example of how out of touch with reality the Republican party is. They actually expected BUSH to come up with something coherent???

I don't know why they even woke him up this morning to give his speech. I find him draining to listen to after all the damage that man has done to this country.

Something grossly happening to this country that the ReTHUGliKKKans finally cannot blame on the poor, people on welfare, the working and middle classes, the blue collars, the uneducated, illegal immigrants, those who are racially, socially and culturally disenfranchised, racial minority groups and all those "lazy ignorants" the ReTHUGS just love to rant about for not "pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps" (though many never had any "boots" to begin with).

It all boils down to the sociopathic, corporate greedy, selfish, ReTHUGLIKKKans and their minions who exist on Wall Street and in every corporate sector in this country. These people have been asleep at the Nation’s “financial switch” for the last 8 years while lining their filthy pockets at the expense of the working taxpayers. Trickle-down economic theory my a$$!

They really are sociopaths.
They have no conscience.
They lie with a straight face and that's scary.
Then they beat the drum of party unity to sucker everyone else.
Repeat the same old talking points, never ask direct questions.

Scary.

Wake up people. You are being punked.
