Paul McCartney Gushes Over Nancy Shevell: "I'm So Happy"

After almost a year of paparazzi photos chronicling their relationship, Paul McCartney has gone on the record about his American lady love Nancy Shevell. The pair were first spotted kissing in the Hamptons last November, went on a road trip across the US in August and were sailing in the Hamptons earlier this month. Despite the chronicling, McCartney hasn't spoken to the press about the 47-year-old Nancy.

But McCartney, at a London Fashion Week event, talked to a UK Paper:

"I'm so happy," he said. As we quaffed Moet and got stuck into vegetarian cannelloni with Macca he raved about their month-long 3,000- mile road trip across seven US states.

"We had a brilliant time in the US. We stayed mainly in hotels but did the whole Route 66 gig," he told us.

"It's an amazing thing to do - I would recommend it.

"It was great and we're so happy."

While his American socialite girlfriend chatted to mutual friends, he was overheard saying: "Things are going great. We enjoy one another's company and Nancy gets on brilliantly with the family.

"It is still early days but we are very much together. She is wonderful."

Paul's divorce from Heather Mills was finalized earlier this year.

Yeah, good on you Paul. Who else in the history of mankind could have or would have written "Eleanor Rigby" or "Penny Lane"? The album two times ago "Chaos and creation..­." was so good! Every once in a while, Paul. For roughly 50 years you have made so many happy moments for so many people, who better to have some fun once in a while. Route 66. How cool is that?

I know folks love and admire Paul but there's something about him....I can't quite put my finger on it but he's not as nice as people think.

Not too many people in this world have been under the public microscope of fascination and analysis like Paul McCartney. For sure, he's long ago developed and perfected his "thumbs up" public persona as a shield for privacy and sanity. Of course, the public Paul isn't 100% the same as the private Paul. It's the same with all of us. But he's done his part in creating and spreading a lot of good tunes, love and happiness in this world. Glad he's in love and happy again.

Hey, the love of his life died of cancer and he unwittingly married a complete monster. If he manages to find happiness again, he well deserves it.
