Once a month, Nayla says, she writes a letter to Oprah Winfrey.

A young Saudi homemaker who covers her face in public might not seem to have much in common with an American talk show host whose image is known to millions. Like many women in this conservative desert kingdom, Nayla does not usually socialize with people outside her extended family, and she never leaves her house unless chaperoned by her husband.

If we could appeal to the women of the Middle East that are not treated equal - there could be hope that things will change eventually.

If Obama makes it to the presidency, Oprah deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. The way that some countries treat their women is their biggest achille's heel. If the U.S. made women's rights a major goal around the world in order to raise the standard of living for all, then we would be much more effective in bringing democracy to the world. That is if we can just stop taking things like thieves.

Not only Saudi women but all women from the ME. Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, etc, etc. and even Iran. She is no saint and I may not agree in many issues with her but she has a good way to show to middle eastern woman that the USA is a place for dialogue, openness and discretion.

Oprah is an inspiration to men too, not just to women. "Millions of people" was an understatement, billions would be more appropriate.

Please go to Oprah's website and respond to the women there who are boycotting Oprah for not having Palin on her show. After all O has done for women they really have turned on her, calling her racist among other things. Some mean and very ignorant comments. Oprah doesn't really need our help, but she does not deserve the comments from the republican women whatever club either ..

So the men can divorce them and take their children away from them when they do. I'm surprised that the men let these women watch Oprah...it may give these woman an idea to revolt.

It's nice to hear that some Saudi women find Oprah to be a role model. Maybe she could return the favor by wearing a burqa when in public. After all imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

This was a beautiful story. I was deeply moved by hearing these women speak for themselves and was reminded to cherish the freedom we have here as women. I pray for them.

It's a very sad situation for any human being. The women of Saudi Arabia cannot risk helping themselves, Saudi men have shown no hesitation when it comes to beheading 'uppity' women. I've never known Jewish women to be shy about fighting for their rights as women and would hope they would consider teaching the women of Africa and the Mid East how to get it done without getting killed in the process.

Oprah is an amazingly generous human being, and I don't mean that she gives material things, but she gives of herself. I am glad that she is role model for women who are oppressed in Saudi Arabia.
